My computer was running fine, then one day, it started doing a loud long beep. C1 error i later found out. I had 8 gigs of mushkin xp2-6400 ram installed 4x2gig. After that, i pulled out one of the sticks of ram, moved them around tried them with different bays and everything. So it seems to work with 6 gig of it installed in any set up that i've tried. I'd like to be able to use all 8 gigs again, is there any kind of suggestion as to what to try. Everything that i've tried so far as seemed to do nothing. Thanks for any help, and can post more information about the system if needed. Just not sure what to post at the moment.

Try one stick of Ram at a time in the first slot to rule out a bad memory stick. Let us know how it went, then we can go from there.

all the sticks work, one of them did not work initially, might have been how it seated it, though it worked the 2nd time. tried to install them in the 4 slots, 1-3 worked, 1-2-3 worked, 1-2-3-4, not a C1 error, but now a 0d error. Going to look up what that might be.

That code say's reserved. Anyway, did it go through several codes at boot up, then settle at FF?

Put the Ram sticks back in. Then do a Cmos reset with the jumper on the Motherboard. Go into Bios, and do a reset to defaults. F10 restart, saving, then go back into bios, and check all your settings. Remember, in Bios you won't get an FF code. After the Bios is done, go back into Windows, then check for the normal FF code on the LED. Let me know if you get any more problems.

what is the easiest way to reset with the jumper for the cmos. I do not know where the jumper is, and no luck finding it in the manual, might just be that i dont know what it would be called. Is pulling the batter for 5-10 mins the same as the jumper? Is it just called jumper on the mobo? if that is the case i believe i've found it on there.

Clear CMOS Jumper: CLR_CMOS The motherboard uses the CMOS RAM to store all the set parameters. The CMOS can be cleared by removing the CMOS jumper. Use the following procedure to clear CMOS: 1. Turn off the AC power supply and connect pins 1 and 2 together using the jumper cap. 2. Return the jumper setting to normal (pins 2 and 3 together with the jumper cap). 3. Turn the AC power supply back on.

aye, got that done. Still doesnt seem to like the 4 slots, will work with 3 slots filled, but not four. Though its not giving me a C1 error anymore or the beeps as it once was when all four slots were filled. It just seems like it hangs on "od". Random side note, what would be better for me, having 6 gigs of ram but not dual channel, or using 4g with dual channel.

looking around, could it be that there is not enough voltage going to the ram when all four slots are filled? and if so, what would be some good settings to try with that. I know very little in the way of changing the voltages around

Will need you to list your detailed system spex and for you to post a fully completed BIOS Template in order to know what adjustments you should make to your voltages.
