I just retooled my computer adding in a P55 SLI motherboard, i7 cpu, and 4gigs of DDR3 RAM, and now, for some reason, nvidia control panel no longer has the option to enable SLI.

I've tried the 258.69, 257.21, and 197.45 drivers, each time running driver sweeper in between as per donta's post, and I keep getting the same problem. I've uninstalled realtek audio and marvell lan drivers, for those defaulting to windows-provided drivers, and yet there is still no option to set up SLI.

Any ideas?

Believe it or not you may want to check/rollback you NIC driver, lost of people have had this problem with SLI on X58 boards that use the Realtek NIC and the update that was recently pushed down through Windows Update.  Try rolling back the driver to the official one from EVGA, that solved my problem on my X58.

    Good luck!

I know I read that. I said I uninstalled the lan drivers, and I'm still getting this problem. (I assume that's what NIC drivers are?)

plus, I never had the realtek drivers. My network adapter drivers have always been marvell.

nevermind, apparently I had my cards in sockets 1 and 3, which isn't right.

However, when I moved the card that was in slot 3 to slot 2, device manager showed:
"This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)"

    grrrr
