OK, so one of my 8800 GTS 512 just died and running on 1 just wont cut it, I have the money to get a 470 but I do not know if my system is ready for it, I'm not concerned with the other components being a bottleneck I just want to know if I place in a new 470 will I run into power problems.

Current System:
MB: EVGA 780i
CPU: Q9300 @ 2.66
MEM: 4GB DDR2 @800
POS: PC power & cooling 750W (great POS btw)
OS: WIN 7 64x
(old) GPU: 2x 8800 GTS 512
HDD: 500GB WD 7200RPM
2x 120mm fans
1x 90mm fan

This setup has run rock solid for close to 2 years, my biggest concern is that my POS wont be able to power both a 470 as a main card and the 8800 for physx. no rush on an answer but I would love to order my card tonight and get back to folding soon.

Thanks,
Allen

No problems, the PC Power and Cooling 750 will be fine.  I have the silencer 910 running to 480's if that tells you anything. Usually, PC Power and Cooling are extremely efficient and run one massive rail.

    This one: http://www.pcpower.com/power-supply/silencer-750-quad-black.html

Yeah, it has one 60A rail. That will be fine. Not sure I would try two 470's with it though, but one will be fine.

But, it is listed on slizone as being able to run 2 470's. http://www.slizone.com/object/slizone_build_psu.html

i agree, shouldnt be a problem i just wouldnt try sli with that psu, although the corsair 750 has worked with two 470's without problems
edit: as listed above the power supply is sli certified for 470's,although overclocking the cards that psu probably doesnt have enough power, shoudnt be problem with your configuration(470,8800 physics)

But, SLI Zone does list it for dual 470's. Not sure I always trust SLI Zone on these things though... I tend to like a lot of overhead when it comes to power supplies that cover my whole system...

if the cards arent overclocked it shouldnt be a problem,i like having more power also, edited my other post
