Hello guys, After having my 470 in for a month now im starting to think wether it would be better if i added my old 9800 GT as a Physx card. Ive read that you would have to mod the file? What file is that? Would the 257.15 BETA drivers recognise the 9800 once i put in and all i would have to do is make sure its on Physx in Nvidia control panel? Would like some peeps to shed some light on this for me, All the best

there shouldnt be a problem with the beta drivers the new drivers support all cards.the nv control panel has the options under physics to select what card is dedicated for physics, only batman and a few other games use physics acceleration so only few titles will have better performance.the beta drivers can also auto select what card is best at each application.the 9 and 8 series never needed modded files only 200 series for some reason, the beta drivers fixed that.when i find my thread i can update my post and you can have an idea from the responses i got about the modded files. update: here is my thread and respnsed about modded files help , the 200 series always had the same drivers as the 8 and 9 series yet i got my 9800 working with physics and my 470 as primary without modded files,my 275 needed modded files for some reason im not sure why,the beta drivers have allowed me to have my 275 as for physics without any problems at all.

I assume the 470 wouldnt need the double sli bridge either? Cheers

No SLI bridge since there is no SLI being used. The 9800GT will help your PhysX performance in Batman and Dark Void. In most other PhysX applications, it won't do much at all. You'll get lower 3DMark Vantage scores if the 9800GT is set as your PhysX card.

No, those games don't use the PhysX engine so the 9800GT will be useless.
