So I recently purchased a cable mod 12vpwhr pcie cable for my 1200 Supernova P3 psu
This cable is a 16 pin to quad 8 pin. It plugs directly into the psu from the gpu.
I just wanna make sure I have the correct cable and avoid frying my psu or anything else.
Anyone have any experience with these cables or with this one specifically.
I went on there compatibility list and when you click on the supernova p3 1200 this is the on the page it takes you to.
But it does not say P3 on the product packaging
Any help is extremely appreciated as I’d like to keep the look of my pc clean and avoid using the supplied cable.

Welcome to the EVGA forums & congrats on your first thread

OK, you did not list the part number of the cable you received & there are many different cables; So ...........

I would email CableMod & ask if their product that you received is indeed compatible with that specific PSU

the other choice you would have is finding the 16 pin pin out & then with a voltmeter confirm the voltage & ground connection

This is the reply I got from cablemod
One of my concerns is the part that plugs into the psu directly
The 4x8 pcie plugs have 8 pins but only 6 are wired

    Response from cablemod
Our cable wiring system may be slightly different from the OEM cables, but each cable has been tested prior to shipping, so if you are using the correct hardware with the correct cable series - you have nothing to worry about.

All three versions of our 12VHPWR cables (16 Pin to 2x8, 3x8, and 4x8) work with any RTX4.0 card delivering up to 600W of power. It only depends on your PSU plug availability, as you must plug in all 8 Pin cables into the PSU (not 2/3 or 2/4, or 3/4) in order for the cable to work properly. The reason we offer all of these is for users who want extra redundancy for the power being supplied to their GPU.

    Kind regards,

You haven't provided a link or a part number.

Are you sure that the cable you bought is designed to plug directly into the power supply? Does it say that specifically?
It may be designed to plug into EVGA's existing 8-pin cables as a pretty extension where you hide EVGA's 8-pin cables behind the motherboard tray or in the bottom of your computer case.
