Dear EVGA Community, Thank you everyone for your patience while our team worked on the updates per Intel for the Z690 motherboards. These updates include the 0x129 Microcode from Intel for the Z690 series motherboards. We only recommend this BIOS for the Z690 with Intel 13 th Gen. Processors. The BETA BIOS can be downloaded at the links below: Please take note that we do not recommend updating your BIOS if you are not running an Intel 13 th Gen. Processor.

I think changes are what INTEL requested from vendors: 1. Intel default settings to avoid elevated power delivery impact to the processor (May 2024) 2. Microcode 0x125 to fix the eTVB issue in i9 processors (June 2024) 3. Microcode 0x129 to address elevated voltages (August 2024)

I installed this update and then applied all my previous settings. As far as I can tell, I see no difference in performance, clocks, voltages, etc. But I did turn off Intel default mode. I did turn on most of the new protection options, but I left the power limit at auto and it seems to be unlimited.

Hello. does my i5 13500 processor and EVGA Z690 Classy make sense for me to install a new bios?
BIOS updates are always optional ... Howerver - check the Intel statement to see that the "fix" is recommended to stop overvoltage from killing CPUs ..... FYI, Intel recently released yet another microcode update .. Intel swears yet again, the newest just released microcode fixes (released 26 September) is the real root cause
-------------- (yet another Intel Microcode update) ------------------------------ https://forums.evga.com/FindPost/3625855 Here we go Again, 26 September ---> yet another "root cause" found by Intel .... no really this time, they swear it fixes the real cause NewsBy Darren Allan published 12 hours ago (excerpt) "One might have thought all the Intel stability issue malarkey was behind us, given the official 0x129 microcode fix came out back in August. However, although this update was supposed to fix the issue, it wasn't a root cause fix. Now, Intel's releasing a proper root cause fix for affected 13th and 14th Gen CPUs in its 0x12B microcode update. This update "addresses elevated voltage requests by the processor during idle and/or light activity periods" which have been narrowed down to being caused by a particular "clock tree circuit within the IA core". In other words, Intel's narrowed down the problem to a particular circuit within the bulk of the CPU that houses all the P- and E-Cores. The problem is, as we already knew, a Vmin one, where voltage spikes cause the minimum operating voltage to increase over time as the CPU requires more and more power to remain stable, which increases degradation."

I'm still having issues after microcode update 2.16, the computer will only boot from a complete shutdown, If I do a restart I get a code d6. I've tried everything I can think of including reinstalling graphics card. I've reinstalled update 3 times still same issue. If I flashback to 2.09 everything works fine. The same issue happened with version 2.12. 2.09 is the only version that works normal. I've worked on this for days and I left a email with tech support but they never responded. My system consist of Nvidia 4070ti, i5 13600k with Z690 Classified along with 64GB Trident Z5 6000 DDR5. I want to be safe I might flashback to 2.09 If I can't figure this out. In this thread, BIOS version 2.16 is for the Kingpin. Do we assume you didn't try flashing the Kingpin BIOS on your Classified? The newer thread for the latest Intel microcode (0x12b) has BIOS version 2.16 for the Classified. I see you posted a duplicate post in there as well.

Easy fix. Log back into your Microsoft account which you should've had one. Troubleshoot problem in activation settings in Windows and if it says no network connection restart Windows and try again. Should eventually give you your key back.

For those wondering, I can verify that this BIOS is working with a 14900K.
Was this on a Classified or a KP? Looking to run a 14700k on my Classified becasue its the only board that still likes my SLI setup hoping it works, would love to know before i buy the cpu.

It should boot on both, but the V/F curves and boost settings may be wrong. not sure what else may or may not be correct. It'll likely treat it like the 13900k. That said, if you set all the OC-settings manually, you can almost definitely get it running stable and pretty decent. It's just not officially supported and the 14700k will not work lol.
