Bear with me

The PC was just recently built maybe a month ago and operating fine. The RGB on the RAM is usually on during Sleep Mode. However, today I noticed that said RGB was off and I was not able to wake the PC like normal (keyboard or mouse) or power it on from the case Power Button or at the MOBO. The mobo still gets power to power on some of the LEDs on the mobo but nothing showing on the POST LED.

I did unplug all cables from the PSU (EVGA G6) and perform a paper clip test on the 24pin, I was able to get the PSU fan to spin when powering it on. Plugged everything back in to ensure it wasn’t a physical connection issue but same issue. I don’t have a meter on hand but I will be testing the other pins on the 24pin

Went through the MOBOs manual to troubleshoot POST LED and I may need to look over it again but I don’t remember the manual mentioning about a “blank” POST LED showing no codes. I’ll be away from the device for several hours today but would a blank POST LED indicate failure on the MOBO?

Sounds like it's dead. Even with no hardware installed on the board you should still get a code.

Update: I performed a BIOS flash and all lights turned on during this 4 min process but turned back off afterwards. However, it does post an E6 code which the manual states: Reserved for future AMI progress codes.

Not entirely sure what this means but with a little bit of a Google search E6 typically means that the CPU is not detected so i’m going to shift focus at the socket. I will try reseating the CPU or and see if I notice issues with the contact points

Sounds like a good plan. You could see if any change happens if no CPU is installed since it should give the CPU not detected error and it's better to get an error for things like no CPU, memory or storage than not have that knowledge so consider hooking up as little as possible. I have had several times where I unplugged a random device and had the computer start to boot.

Also it might be worth removing the motherboard and making sure no cables or standoff is in the wrong position or any random screw got behind the motherboard.

and if/when mobo is pulled; is it advisable for Seann.v91 to replace the CMOS battery too while it is out?

or would a bad CMOS battery not result in symptoms he's having?

Update 2/4 9:00PM

Referring to my last post: I did end up getting the system to boot after performing a BIOS flash/reset utilizing the USB provided by EVGA but did that a dozen times since all sessions crashed at each attempt.

I let the computer run each time with and without a BIOS update, and leaving the RAM at 4800mhz as well as setting it to 6800mhz. The PC will boot to BIOS with the following WARNING MESSAGES: “CMOS Checksum error” which I believe has to do with the CMOST battery, and “CPU and Memory have changed”.

The last few attempts the BIOS has only prompted the “CMOS Checksum Error” warning message. Clock was also not synched to Central (but is now)

The board did produce additional codes during boot: A9 D6 D7 A2 Ab

Also, I did remove the mobo from the case to see if any debris or material was possibly causing a short - did not see anything. I also took a brand new soft brush to the socket and CPU - incase there was anything small lodged onto/into it.

Currently the computer is on with no BIOS update and RAM is set to 6800mhz with Twitch running in the background for maybe 2 hours now with no crashed session. This is the longest session as the other ones I was only able to get the PC to run for 10-20mins/30-45mins/1hour.

So with all effort put into troubleshooting the last 48 hours..I went ahead and submitted a request for an RMA.

Lots of luck! I have the same board and I couldn't even get past BIOS 1.15.
