Hi, almost month ago i contacted evga  about having a "custom" fully unlocked bios which means i can access "hidden" settings or lets  settings that are accessible only via aptio v utilities  which is not commercial and easy to get tool and its time consuming because in order to change you values you need to mess with command prompt to export the settings, then manually edit everything in notepad , export the settings in command prompt again and then restart the pc. Thing im messing with are not even overclocking stuff or anything that could permanently damage my pc settings most of them are related to pci-e performance and sleeping features and long story short its just my personal experiment with different settings influcing input latency and pci-e jitter, but the thats not that important part. I guess im doomed to use text editor  even if its matter of 15 minutes for technician to make the settings accessible for 'user' , export it , zip it and send it to attachment. The main problem is the are two available bioses 1.09 and 1.08 on this motherboard and on both them my vcore is greyed out locked on auto pumping my vcore to 1.45 to 1.475 v on my 5800x3d sucessfully raising the idle voltages to like 60-65c with noctua nh-d15 cooler , just no way to access this settings and lower the voltages, lowering llc does nothing. Same goes for multiplier which is shady but somehow understandable considering the fact that this chip is not overclockable and overclocking it can bring fatal results but for god sake can you please make a new version of bios so i can lower the voltage? Its ridiculous.
Another funky thing is that after two weeks of not having an answer from support i've checked the mail and under my latest send message there was a little warning with small font telling me that e-mail was not send, so i send another one and immediately i've got response from mail deamon that my message was blocked with it's answer "550 permanent failure for one or more recipients (supporteu@evga.com:blocked)" so right now im very confused i spoke with polite way , not being arrogant or something but this for me seems to be me being on blacklist. So i am here, waiting anyone on from evga to answer on this.

Hi agendarsky,

I'm not sure what you are doing exactly, my 5800X3D on my X570 DARK on FULL STOCK settings peaks at 1.3V (exactly at 1.309V the highest), but thats just absolutely at random spikes under idle.
Since then i have Curve Optimized it (currently -25 all core), and that made it so that i don't usually even reach 1.2V in any circumstance.
I have no clue why whatever your settings/BIOS is pumping over 1.4V to the VCore, thats indeed bad. I would suggest going back to stock 1.09 and then using CO aswell, atleast you can lower the voltage that way (whatever the reason is for high V to begin with).
https://imgur.com/a/UQPZLeg

Fresh picture from today, i peak just under 1.2V VCore at worst: https://imgur.com/a/rZqkslA
And i finally found a picture before i started adjusting values, this is full stock board and CPU: https://imgur.com/a/ZG5Gky0 (actual highest ever peak was 1.315V apparently, it's somewhat fine, but 1.300V is suggested max for these chips).

Just mentioning that MB has multiple BIOS, selected by a switch.  My though was the BIOS you were using might have been corrupted.

As I do not own that MB to look at, it was just a guess - something easy to check

Found this with a web search The EVGA X570 Dark Motherboard Review: A Dark Beast For Ryzen

Article photos, seem to indicate you should have the ability to make changes - (under OC or EXTRAS tab) - so it might depend on Where you are in the BIOS.

Is this where your looking to make the change? Open "Advanced Configuration" then look under either "OC" or the  "Extras tab"

(excerpt from link above)
"Plugging in the inclusive USB drive and clicking on the executable file brings up a list of options. These allow users to install essential drivers, including AMD's RAID software, with other possibilities, including EVGA's ELEET X1 overclocking utility,

What about the "OC Robot"? - does the voltage change/ let you make changes?

No luck here :(, enabling l2n mode for does nothing. I guess the board is faulty. Is there any place i can claim an warranty in europe? I dont really want to send it back to usa.
So if there is no jumper (slow mode switch turned off) is there something wrong connected that could cause such a issue?
Oc robot goes to 4.2ghz with around 1.260V at 70c (noctua nh-d15 at smart settings)

Yes, I believe Warranty can be completed in the area of the World where you actually live (not restricted to where purchased)

Step 1 Register the product under your account & also confirm all of your contact information as that is the way EVGA will reply to you

Re: Are you kidding me evga? X570 Dark Thursday, July 06, 2023 4:35 PM (permalink)
The reason VCore adjustment is greyed out is because AMD officially disallowed that for the 5800X3D, so people don't destroy their chips.
The only problem here is that the motherboard is pumping WAY TOO much voltage on AUTO/Default, but wether your CPU is that bad somehow that it needs so much or if it's actually a motherboard fault, i can't tell you.
I can only advise you making sure one way or another what is at fault, before RMA-ing a potentially impossible to replace and good product!
I don't even know why are you using OC Robot, that isn't supposed to work either for the 5800X3D, all official overclocking features should be disabled for it, Curve Optimization (or undervolting in other words) is the only tweaking that is allowed.

You can absolutely claim warranty, but you need to have it registered on EVGA EU site under your account (if you ordered it online from your home in EU, choose the country purchased as your own, but for the Place of purchase choose the correct source you purchased from).

sorry for late answer. I can see you have the same cpu and board, is your vcore option greyed out too?. Its kinda weird because before i bought motherboard i had asus rog crosshair viii and  vcore settings was adjustable but somehow on this board its locked from eldest bios version and it makes me angry. Also good u mentioned curve optimizer because its also not present in bios or in other words its not visible in bios  but according to exported bios settings which i did via AMISCE utility , it's there, i can see it in text file that containts it , i can manipulate it from there but i cant see it in bios which is again ridiculous for that kind of motherboard. Also the motherboard is very much capable of LN2 overclock so hypothetically lets say im xtreme oc enthusiast (which im not) and wanna try 5800x3d limits and oc capability under controled enviroment (which i dont) but hey guess what , the most basic setting is locked but its not on 300euro cheaper motherboard. Iam really dissapointed from this buy no matter how good this motherboard is from technical point of view (i love closures, speaking about technical point of view i cant have my studio monitors on while gaming because i get gpu interference streamed into them which again wasnt the case on crosshair viii)  the bios is just one big mess. Also why there is no settings in chipset column, i get it , the board is made for oc enthusiasts that dont mess with chipset or any other non-oc related settings but some people do. Evga support (when i was able to communicate them before they blocked me for probably wanting too much)  told me that i need to register my product and they will contact technician for my custom bios request that how i mentioned was bios that has every setting visible because editing things from os is time compsuming and i cant hex the file because iam not at that level.  few days later the answer was "we dont have any bios like this" like iam requesting something that is not on stock lol when in reallity all it takes for technician to either request that kind of bios directly from AMI which i tried to contact but they wouldn't bother to answer me back OR he have utility to makes changes himself but he dont want to do that for unknown reason. So right now i overpaid 400 euros (including fee and transportation cost) when i sold my rog crosshair viii for this and i cant even setup curve optimizier, i cant adjust my vcore, the basic chipset settings are missing and my chip is running hot thanks for this shi*ty bios and the cherry on top of the cake is  when i try to reply and continue in conversation with evga support i get answer from google mailer deamon that says my message was blocked and i wasnt rude to them in any way. Really awesome buy evga, worthfull upgrade,  thanks for experience :-)

Hey agend again!
Yes, indeed VCore is greyed out, but this should be true for all motherboards, not an EVGA exclusive.
Curve Optimizer is available via PBO2 Tuner app/utility, you can just do it in realtime in windows and stress test as you adjust your negative values.
As for the BIOS i'm not sure what basic settings are you missing, everything thats locked away for 5800X3D is locked away on all motherboards because AMD told board partners to do so, not exclusive to EVGA.
The custom BIOS you requested is probably a no go because we currently don't think there is any BIOS team left, or if yes they would be working on the Intel chipset BIOS (atleast thats what last was promised, but nothing for our X570s)
For me the purchase was an absolute win (i bought it back at 720 EUR), there is alot of memory OC capability in this that i still didn't have time to more proactively dial in. The CPU however and SoC voltage is dialed in very nicely now.
Just ask more if i can help with something that i already know and did, maybe i can be of help?

Thanks for your reply, atm im not saying anything new but i could lower voltage at asus crosshair viii atleast and i'm using pbo2 tuner and i was using it on previous motherboard which allowed me to decrease a temperatures more with voltage adjustments.  Memory oc is not such a thing for me on  5800x3d and iam even considering to switch from 16gb 3600 16-16-16-32 to 32 gb to 3600 16-18-(higher) because many tests clearly shows that there is very little performance increase with that amount of l3 cache . Can't you just open/unlock the settings from current version of bios?

Nope, still no unlocks for 5800X3D. PBO2 Tuner is still the only thing to use. As for mem OC it's not for everyone, while it's true that on this chip it's less effective, i personally still like to tweak it further for a few percentages. That being sad i had absolutely zero time to do so until now, but i intend to dig into it since i will have more freetime.
As for the board we (me and perhaps a few others here) still have a little hope that we get a new BIOS with latest AGESA (much like the Z690/Z790 forum users hope they get the one for 14th gen), but with key BIOS team members absent from EVGA, it is unclear if we actually ever get these.

absolutely ridiculous board. i just need one month so i can FINALLY get rid of it / iam  upgrading to am5 with actually working MSI board i've rather 8 layer pcb board with components with little worse quallity.. I've unlocked settings i wanted because apparently "intel bios team" is too busy to do simple thing , but now iam dealing with 'deviceid' problem so now after the flash iam getting 5 beeps indicating problem with gpu ( yes , even the two bioses that was working and didnt touch them). I did a little googling that indicades its deviceid problem, i did the nvidia firmware update which gave me  quote "already latest" but it still didnt help, different ports didnt help, display port didnt help, so i had to buy cheap gt440 and use my 15 years old monitor to actually access  bios. I had zero problem on previous asus board with this gpu and also considering fact that update utility is telling me it have latest firmware im not blaming nvidia for this. Awesome experience with evga board, technical quallity wont save this. U can lock this thread, im done with this board.
