New features and bug fixes.  Adds 24GB module support, fixes non-k CPU BCLK OC issues and that pesky 4090 black screen issue on E798)

BIOS 1.13 (Z790 DARK K|NGP|N) / BIOS 1.11 (Z790 Classified)

  • Fixes Non-K CPU unable to boot into OS with BCLK OC.
  • Fixes AMD EXPO module detection issue.
  • Adds DDR5 24GB module support.
  • Add Luumi OC profiles. (Classified Only)
  • Fixes 4090 black screen issue.  (Classified Only)

Windows Installation
  • Download the correct .zip file below for your motherboard:
         121-RL-E799-KR - EVGA Z790 DARK K|NGP|N - v1.13
         121-RL-E798-KR - EVGA Z790 CLASSIFIED - v1.11
  • First go into your BIOS and load defaults, save and exit
  • Close all open programs.
  • Go into the folder where you unzipped this package and double-click update.bat
  • Press Y to start the flash process
  • DO NOT TURN OFF POWER OR RESET DURING THE FLASH PROCESS
  • After the flash is finished, the system will automatically shut down. Power on the system again and go into BIOS and adjust settings as needed.
  • NOTE: If flash box immediately closes after flash attempt, the flash may need to be run from a CMD prompt with administrator privileges or DOS version.

BIOS Installation within BIOS

  • Extract the contents of .zip file to USB flash drive (must be formatted as FAT32)
  • Reboot the machine and go into the system BIOS
  • From the BIOS, navigate to the EXTRAS tab at the upper left and click on "BIOS Update"
  • Select the .bin file you wish to flash.

BIOS Installation Without CPU

  • Extract the contents of .zip file to USB flash drive (must be formatted as FAT32)
  • Rename the file "EVGAE7XX.bin", where XX is the last two digits of the part number (e.g. Z790 DARK K|NGP|N should be EVGAE799.bin)
  • Install the USB flash drive into the USB Type-A port on the motherboard.
  • Make sure to connect the 24pin power connector from your power supply to the motherboard.
  • Switch on the power supply, if it is not already on.
  • Hold the BIOS Update button on the rear I/O for approximately 2 seconds until the flash begins (the cursor on the POST LED will begin cycling)
  • The BIOS update may take approximately 5-7 minutes to complete.  When done, the board will restart.
  • Complete the rest of your build at this point to confirm a successful flash.

Please let me know if anyone runs into problems with this update.  Thanks!

Also, earlier BIOS files for each board can be found on our Download Center.

Z690 owners hopefully can get updates soon as 2.10 on Z690 dark was unstable. We are patiently waiting so hopefully EVGA can look into our issues now.

I've heard by end of the week, but that's always assuming that testing is successful.

Got it, I hope your team really tests 12th gen really deep. Running a Corsair 6200 Mhz kit Hynix M die if that helps... 12th gen users seemed to have been screwed the most with 2.10

Any general window on when you guys will have the BIOS for RLR (Intel 14th gen CPUs)?
I'm debating on whether or not to go 13th gen or just keep waiting...

    No

EVGA said they planned to release an update for rocket lake refresh, then said that they made a request for an update.  Nothing more since then.  EVGA doesn't have hardware or software engineers any more to do the work themself, so all they can do is request a contractor to do the work.

I wouldn't hold my breath.  Silence from EVGA usually means that they don't have high expectations or confidence in it happening.

    ASRock Z77 • Intel Core i7 3770K • EVGA GTX 1080 • Samsung 850 Pro • Seasonic PRIME 600W Titanium
    My EVGA Score: 1546 • Zero Associates Points • I don't shill

There probably won't be any updates anymore, since the whole motherboard division left the company. Unless they contract/hire someone to do the work, to support Z690/Z790 through its life cycle.
