Only a few days ago,
we reported on first ASRock B650 motherboard going for $125, is the cheapest AM5 motherboard to date. What is important that users were now able to find a AM5 CPU & motherboard with memory for less than $500 together. Turns out,
Newegg is now offering much better parts at nearly the same price. Instead of the 6-core 7600X, this deal features 8-core Ryzen 7 7700X. Furthermore, there is no B650 motherboard here but a proper X670E chipset, all together available for $500. We couldn’t find anything even remotely similar to those specs at Amazon or MicroCenter, the latter only offer 7700X paired with B650 at this price.
AMD Ryzen 7 7700X is one of the original SKUs introduced last year with a 105W TDP and boost clock up to 5.7 GHz. Unlike the upcoming 7800X3D model, this version does not feature 3D V-Cache technology, so it will undoubtedly be slower in games. However, the 7800X3D will cost $449 at launch, so for just $50 more, one gets a motherboard and memory.
The B670E motherboard from ASRock is a proper design with 14+2+1 phase VRM power section, up to 4x DDR5-6600 memory OC support, PCIe Gen5 x16 slot for GPU and, of course, Gen5 M.2 slot for storage. The 2x16GB memory kit has an AMD EXPO overclocking profile, and it is rated for 6000 MT/s at 36-36-36-96 CL36.
Right now it is out of stock.
