I turned on my computer this morning. All fans spin at 100% and debug LED shows 00 and will not POST. All was good yesterday when I was using it. Didn’t make any changes to anything, shutdown was normal.

I haven’t yet tried many fix attempts except unplug power and hold power button for 30 seconds, push CMOS reset button and try all three bios positions. No success.

I have been running a Z690 with a 13th generation chip using 2.05 bios since mid-December with no problems. It almost seems as if bios is not being recognized. Not sure if I should try to flash the most current bios or if this would cause a potential bricking.

Do you have a recommendation on how this can be fixed? All input is appreciated.
SOLVED: I unplugged everything, held power button 30 second, reconnected PSU and 24-pin and it POSTed to bios. Reconnected everything. Bios asked the “checksum question“ and I said yes. Saved changes and restarted and system is up and running.
Although I am happy to not have to disassemble and troubleshoot the entire system, I wish I knew what caused the problem. I’ve often wondered how a computer can shutdown fine but have a problem on startup, without any obvious incidents occurring. ???

have a speaker for the MB? - there are Beep codes in manual

what about the on MB led indicators - can be part of troubleshooting - indicate what is the point it stops at / fails

confirm everything is seated (unplug first)

confirm all power connections on both sides of PSU & device

easy test unplug everything connected to USB ports .... anything change .... failed USB can cause issues with boot

Boot drive a M.2? - pull or check any sata cables - I've had them fail before

five or six months ago, i had to replace my video card after very similar things occurred, as u described at beginning ^^.

the one thing i did differently than u did, was; took out my 3090 and put in a working 2080ti.

everything worked fine with the 2080ti. RMAed the 3090 and its replacement and everything is working AOK now.

But, the exact same thing as u described ^^ happened 10 months ago. So if same thing occurs and no luck a 2nd time doing what u just did; test with a working Video card to assure all is AOK. At least that way u can avoid complete tear down hopefully if it -- hopefully not -- happens again.
