Hello,

When I first turn on my computer for the day, on POST I get error A9 (Start of Setup) and it stays there. It does this every day. Also every day I hear 5 beeps in a row on start up, but it continues on and gives that error A9. When I press the reset button on the case, it reboots, goes straight to BIOS giving messages of "CPU has changed" or "Memory has changed" or something about legacy graphics card, (it seems to be random, sometimes a combination of the two) and asks me if I want to go to setup in BIOS. When I would, everything looked normal, so now I don't. But then once it reboots from BIOS, everything is perfectly normal. The computer doesn't crash or have any problems. Even when I restart it like from an update or something, it boots up just fine. No A9 or going to BIOS. I'm on BIOS 2.05 and my board is a Classified. I've updated all my drivers. My CPU is a 13900k. My graphics card is an EVGA 3080ti. I'm on Windows 11.

From that description id say maybe a low voltage cmos battery not holding your settings, you turn it on, it cant find them so it does a beep and double pump, finds the base auto settings on reboot and gives you the option to change them or manually adjust and then you move on. Immediate reboots like with updates wouldnt make the cmos battery takeover, so it remembers the settings, thats why no problem.

I changed my Battery on all my Motherboards, you really do not know how long the Motherboard has been in storage.
I had to do this also on all my X299 Motherboards and you must change this battery before you install it.

To add to bcavanaugh, even on new motherboards the battery could have been weak when installed.
I bought a 2-pack of Duracell 2032's and one was bad in the package.
Don't automatically assume that a new motherboard with a new battery has to be good.

+1.... I just went thru this with the key fob for my truck. Bought a 2 pack of energizer 2032's with good dates on them and the first one i pulled was more than half dead already, right outta the pack. Very annoying!

Oh nice! Thanks all! That does make sense. I'll swap out the battery.

That did fix it. Thanks all for the help! I tested the voltage on both out of curiosity. The old battery was 3.04 volts I believe. The new one was 3.28 volts. I found it odd that 3.04 volts was considered low for a 3 volt battery.

When you test a battery, you get a different result if it has a load on it. Sometimes with no load it can look like it has more charge than it does. I'm not sure if you used a regular multimeter or a "battery tester" which usually puts a load on because of this issue, but I thought I'd share that info.
