When running windows, sometimes all connected monitors do not display. This is only resolved with a reboot (sometimes several). When playing games, the video goes black within about 10 minutes every time in all games. I updated by motherboard Bios etc to the latest versions. I also did a complete fresh Windows 10 install to see if there was something corrupt causing this. The issues persisted. I believe the card is defective. This only started about 5 days ago and I did not make any system changes. The card ran perfect up until then. Any help you can provide would be great. My system specs: GPU: EVGA 3080 12GB Motherboard: MSI B550 Tomahawk CPU: Ryzen 5900X Do I need EVGA to authorize a RMA or can I just send this back?

It could be the overcurrent protections being triggered on the card. You can check what the +12v is running at. If the +12v rail is too high or too low of a voltage it can cause issues. Instructions can be found HERE. I would suggest reinstalling the drivers with Display Driver Uninstaller if you didn't. DDU removes any traces of old drivers, and can often help resolve various issues even a clean install won't fix. You can find a download to DDU HERE.

Thanks, Matthew. I did the following steps and will see if it helps. I was able to run a game for about 10 minutes before I had to stop it due to work. I reseated the GPU. I reseated the power plugs into the GPU. I reseated the DP/HDMI cables into the GPU. I plugged direct to the wall; not the power strip. I used the DDU (did it before too though without helping) and updated to the latest drivers (again). the +12v was consistent and was 12.216. That did not modify. I'll try again later tonight and will see if it crashes again. Thanks.

It could be the PSU. What's the model? Not brand/wattage, the actual model.

What happens when you underclock the card to max negative clocks on the core & mem using msi afterburner?

Ouch!
The G+ is one of those units that cannot keep up with the transient loads of the 3080. That is probably the problem.
If you have access to a PSU that can handle those, give it a try. It will most likely fix the issue.

I don't have afterburner installed at the moment, but I did have it before. I went from 400W to about 250W at 100% GPU usage. I ran it for about 3 months and had no crashes. Then crashing. I do not have it installed right now as I am trying to have as little as possible running. I'm actually gaming ok at the moment (only maybe 15 minutes though right now without a crash). I did have 2 crashed though but both happened when I hit the Windows button while in full screen. I am mashing the windows button now though and it seems ok. I have my fingers crossed.

Odd. It ran just fine for about 4 months, now this. Do you have one you can recommend? I do my shopping at Microcenter.

First make sure that this is actually the problem.
- Check for high temperatures, memory issues, etc.
- Try a different PSU. Preferably one you already have, to avoid overspending.
EVGA has the G2, P2, G6 and P6 series that should be fine, but if I were to get a PSU now, I would make sure to get an ATX 3.0 unit, and those are still somewhat rare.

So far I checked: CPU temps - 75c temp under load; 15c less than max temp GPU temps - 72c temp under load Memory - i used the WIN10 memory test tool and it passed Is there anything else I should test?

Try a different PSU if you have access to one. Just make sure it can handle the power spikes.

obviously, if you haven't - drop into another system entirely.
