Look how many kingpins this guy has in the pics.  Shows that if you are in the "in" you can get what you want.

A retailer can buy these direct by the lot, and mining can be a licensed business with the same rules as a retailer. Consumers are the ones that feel the availability crunch.

I also know that according to Gamers Nexus the Artesian Builds computers will be put up for auction. I was shocked to hear it would include any rig in the warehouse including consumer computers sent in for RMA.

Extremely likely they bought them as a lot as/from a distributor. You can actually tell by the listing photos he's got 25 or more cards, he may simply have bought an entire pallet.

Also, rather sucks to be him since I don't think anyone is going to bid, he's going to have to eat a much bigger loss to sell those.

Do distributors buy/sell Kingpin cards? I've never seen a retailer/distributor sell KPE card in the past and I thought the only place anyone can buy KPE is through the EVGA website?

There is really no telling where he got those cards, so it's tough to make any conclusions.  He may have just purchased them all on eBay.

But yea, one thing for sure is this dude is probably taking a huge L on his assets.  $9000 opening and not a single bid.   He could have flipped those a year ago for an easy $20k+

Seen them sold before on Newegg in the past, in fact they have a bunch right now. Just have to use the actual spelling K|NGP|N for the search to find them.

hard to know for sure but at that price my guess is he already got his ROI on this rig long ago. perspectives vary but if you're in to crypto you likely believe that the coins are the assets. capital expenditures are a cost of doing business. then again, no way to know when he bought these. i generally wish for all miners to have bought in at the all time high, and that they now have 37 years ROI lol
