I have a functional 460 2 Win from a few years ago (first ever GPU to feature LED lighting!). SLI doesn't work on it as far as I can tell even though both GPUs are detecting. None of the current drivers will allow you to enable SLI and one GPU always stays under 0% load. Apparently it has to do with some secret sauce drivers that were included on the disk with the card and no one has it anymore (I got the card second hand). The engineer who made it apparently passed away and EVGA has no back up of the special driver that enabled SLI to work as no one else had a dual 460 and it was a driver custom made for it as the SLI bridge on the card was none functional for Quad SLI. Anyone have a copy of it lying around? Might be good to preserve for longer term history sake. Plus I want to see it beat a 580 like it claimed in the ads as it has fantastic compatibility for XP era stuff. Ted

Welcome to the forms. It will work with the standard drivers however the motherboard has to support SLI or the SLI function will not be an option. What motherboard do you have? For the drivers, we did have a EVGA SLI Enhancement Patch and it is still on some hosting sites such as the one here however it was discontinued as it was not needed for the later drivers released for the cards.

Building upon what EVGATech_MattM said, an NVIDIA requirement for SLI to work is that the PCIe slots run in at least x8 Mode.. GPU-Z will tell you what the slots are running at in the "Bus Interface" part. If your system isn't meeting NVIDIA SLI requirements, Different SLI [AUTO] might be a workaround so that SLI can be enabled in the NVIDIA Control Panel. NVIDIA Driver Downloads has legacy GeForce drivers for your card.

Matt, thanks for the welcome. Need to customize my profile now. Guys just to clarify. Running on a full 16x PCIe 4.0 interface on a X570 Dark. Tested on my Z690 Kingpin as well so its not an AMD/Intel issue. SLI does not function on latest drivers on this card least as far as I can tell using both synthetic and gaming workloads. One die idles the whole time. I know the cards are functional as if I use the Mini HDMI it does load up that card, but SLI through any one port does not work regardless of what port I use. I remember when I approached some guys on LTT forums they said there were some secret sauce drivers that came by disk and there was a link on that disk to somewhere on a EVGA server to get all the different versions (like 6 versions of the driver) but it was a direct link and it had to do with the card only ever being made by EVGA and the SLI bridge was a hardware bridge and had to be "tricked" into working unlike normal SLI. Don't know the truth behind that. Different SLI might be what I need to try. the option in Nvidia Control Panel its entirely missing.

To clarify, I have tried using older drivers. I went through basically every driver that was ever compatible with the 400 series cards that is still publicly available including a handful of unofficial drivers just to see if they would work. Update: SLI fix did not work. Still missing the option to enable it in the Nvidia Control Panel. Pulling out my old Rampage II Extreme to see if compatibility will be better. Maybe its an old hardware thing. Will post after I try that in XP and 7 again.

derbauer was trying 2 mars 2 590s in a z690 and windows saw all 4 processors but only 2 of the 4 worked, saying maybe pci lane issues. hopefully your rampage works. https://www.youtube.com/w...;ab_channel=der8auerEN

This is exactly the issue I am having. Maybe I need to email him. Its been a good year since I last talked to him. Dual GPUs have always been my weird kink. Absolutely useless in most games nowadays but such cool engineering! Ted
