What do you guys think about this SSD. It is the OCZ 120gb 3.5" Thinking about getting an SSD I need around 120gb for a boot drive and then Ill have a bulk drive (WD Black cavair)..... The main reason I was thinking about this SSD is because it has a $30 mail in rebate. Total price after rebate is 219.99 plus shipping. I know.. I want intel but for $400...Cant...

Did you notice the combo deal on the page you linked ( Don't do the combo deal ) The drive for 249.99, a I-7 950, for 299.99, or both for $1,064.00, Someone help me, I think I need a math tutor. Ok I see now, thats a 970, not a 950.

I had the first vertex, actualy 3(30's) in Raid 0, was NOT impresed, from what I understand there has been 4 firmware updates, since the one I had, and performance has improved each time, My model however , required a return to factory for the update, so I never did it, ( sux being a early adopter ). I replaced with Intel X25M-G's, Updates from IDE mode, without affecting information on drive, and then you switch back to raid and all is fine. no jumpers , and 2 intel's outperformed 3 OCZ's. But like I said, all reports, I have read, says OCZ has come a long way since then.

Excellent drive I use the exact same model for boot drive,  programs and windows updates, everything else is on other drive, mainly the user account folders. After a typical W7 install you will have 111 GB usable on C:\. Currently I'm at 40.3 GB used and 71.3 free with many games and programs installed. I recommend to use AHCI mode and enable it prior windows installation with the SSD as the sole drive until windows is installed. Immediately after install I load the latest Intel Storage drivers if done this way with a single drive TRIM support will be active. For insurance I use Diskkeeper 2010 with hyperfast to maintain a healthy drive. Trim support is important because the SSD have a tendency to degrade in performance over time if not properly maintained.  Believe it or not the worst thing you can do is run a benchmark application. I ran HDTune one time to verify it's functionality and that was it for me. The most notable improvements were boot time which went from 1m:23sec  to about :50 sec on average sometimes :41-2 seconds. Game seem to load much faster too.
    Get one and Enjoy!
    I hope this helps!
