Hey everyone, I was wondering if you happened to know what size o-ring dampeners to get for the Z20. There doesn't seem to be much information about the switches online and I'm having some trouble tracking down the post diameter of the keys.

Any help would be appreciated!

The keyboards use standard keycaps, so you can pick up some good o-rings from PC Gaming Race. I use the 40A thin o-rings on my GMMK full size mech keyboard, although next time I might go for thick. They come in 40A (soft), 70A (hard), and also thin and thick options, 120 o-rings per pack.      They have some nice gear there including a few keycap sets, have a look around.

Not trying to be rude, but have you tried O-rings before? They make keys feel very mushy. I would try before buying if you can.

Depends very much on the keyboard and the individual. I'm using o-rings right now lol. This keyboard's keys felt like they bottomed out really hard when I first started using it, maybe that's just my heavy-handed typing as well, but the o-rings certainly helped with that, and I'm considering going for thicker ones. GMMK full size keyboard with Gateron Brown switches [link].

I have Z15 (two of them lol).. they are definitely swappable switches, I thought the Z20 would be too, but perhaps not (surprisingly). Either way, the key caps can still be changed and/or o-rings added, the switch being swappable doesn't matter in that regard.

I figure I will take the chance on the o-ring.  If it works, I throw my hat to you good sir.  Will be waiting.

The key cap is removeable and swappable not the switch. When people put on the o-ring to dampen the sound and feeling of bottoming out the keycap. It is installed on the bottom of the keycap around the steam that covers the switch.

My Promise to you: My Hat is tipped

So It didn't quite lower it as much.  I went with the 70A Thin and maybe I should have gotten Thick.  I just figure that it would be better with the 70A thank 40A just in case soft material wasn't right for my key typing.  So far so good after 1 day and mainly have it on all the things I frequently use for keys in the typing environment and I feel this got rid of the little tin sound I normally hear when typing.  Thanks for this!

No worries, awesome to hear they worked out at least fairly well. Just out of interest, if you have some spare o-rings, try doubling them up on a couple of keys and see how they operate ..might be too thick then, but maybe it'll work. I might grab some 40A thick o-rings for the EVGA Z20 board and see how it feels (I have the Kailh Speed Silver linear switches).

I just tried it on a few keys (WASD for now) and ya, the actuation is noticeably shorter (I basically don't even have to go 1/3 down to register) and the sound is dampened by alot that it almost sounds like my old Logitech G15 in terms of strike sound.  Honestly, I just used on all letters, spacebar, L ctrl, L Alt, L shift, Tab, 1-6 top row, Enter, arrow keys, and the remaining keys that is part of the body text area to the right of "L" and "M" so I had plenty left over (that was what...45 out of the 126?).  Mine was more of wanting the typing area that I frequent when I'm not gaming and obviously, it works.  But the WASD is dampened surprisingly well that maybe Thick would be the way to go.  I'd assume the doubling up on the Thin is a hair bit more than just 3 mm cause of spacing.  Honestly, I'd almost consider just keeping it this way.  Will have to test a little longer and in game session to decide that.
