I just bought the Z20 Keyboard and I'm trying to set up custom lighting, however it only seems to retain the custom settings while RGB Unleashed is running in the background. As soon as I quit the program, the keyboard lighting defaults backs to rainbow? Is this expected behavior? Because it doesn't feel like it should be.

Yeah mine does the same thing, doesn't seem to be any sort of on board profiling.

Preset lighting effects will flashed to the keyboard and not require Unleash. However Customer lighting would require the Unleash to be running in the background.

Custom lighting is really cool, but causes me a lot of headaches. First off, Unleash has to run in the background and it likes to crash a lot. When Unleash is running I notice delays in typing/input. I currently have one profile setup with custom lighting and if I switch to that profile the only way to switch away is to select a different profile in Unleash, the FN + number doesn't work. Very disappointing.

I would suggest doing a factory reset and readjusting your settings. FN + Number row should work without issues with or without Unleash running in the background.

Crossing my fingers with the software and firmware updates today. With the Custom Lighting Effects (mapped keys) Unleash needs to be running, if not it just does Spiral Rainbow. Basic presets don't need it. I programmed light effects on my son's Z12 with my computer, he connects to his Chromebook and the effects are saved.

Unleashed is a CPU hog. To help other processes' CPU access, I've used Process Explorer (microsoft program available as freeware as nirsoft package) to set Unleashed's affinity to just core1 and core3 (of 4 core CPU). It seems to work just fine with that...haven't seen any keystroke delays. Alternatively, one could try setting its Priority to 'Below Normal' (Level 6), to ensure most other processes have higher access priority than Unleashed but I haven't tried that.

I'm running 1.0.8.0 and haven't had any crashes. I didn't have a compelling reason to update to 1.0.12.0.
