12/18/2020 is when I joined the queue and I was NEVER given a chance to get my card. Now it's closed and there is nothing I can do to get the card at the promised reduced price at launch. No I didn't miss a email saying I could get it. All I want is what I was they said was reserved for me. 10G-P5-3885-KR at the latched price back in 2020...

It wasn't a joke. The EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 XC3 ULTRA GAMING(part number 10G-P5-3885-KL) was the lowest priced, lowest profit model. EVGA made very few of them. However, EVGA made many of the higher end models that cost $20-$50 more and many of them did have their cards sent out to fill up the orders in their queues. You picked the lowest priced, lowest production model and complain about the queue. Maybe the issue isn't the queue.

Doesn't change the fact that it's been 2 years and they couldn't get one to me. That doesn't make sense. Even at a low production, it should have been made available by now to a person who got a request for 1.

You signed up for a notification of stock availability. You weren't guaranteed anything, other than a specified price IF there were cards available by the time they reached your place in line.
Think of it like the line at the Deli. If there is roast beef available when it's your turn to place an order, you get it. There was no promise to have enough for everyone, only that if supply exceeded demand at the time your number came up, you could order one.
That's why you saw people with multiple card skus queued. They all knew and understood there were no guarantees, so they tried to cover all the bases to increase their chances of getting a card.
The queue wasn't perfect, but it did help a lot of people get cards without getting blatantly ripped off in the process.

Ok then if they are just apparently available to get then just let the people who have been in on the list the longest get there stuff? They shouldn't have to fight more to be first in line to get one on the website.

I really don't get posts like this. Nothing was reserved or promised to you, nor did they guarantee you a lower price past a certain date. If you were in the queue since 12/18/2020 you were in a queue for KR skew card which Nvidia stopped sending to their AiBs for over a year. You also missed an email from EVGA offering to move you to the KL skew or opt to stay in your virtually dead KR line. You chose to wait in the dead product line, if you had even a moderate inkling of what was happening with the mining craze you should have known better than to stay in the KR queue and move over to a KL line. Bottom line is the queue was never a "reservation" system, nothing was ever set aside or promised to you. You were simply in a line to be notified "IF" an item you wanted became available. That's it nothing more. You were never promised that item.

Not all models received stock, it's as simple as that. If you had locked in a FTW3 some of those got all the stock and the queue rotated quickly. Now, I agree it would've been better had EVGA not opened queues for models they weren't likely to give allotment to. That's a fair critique on EVGA. But otherwise EVGA's queue system made far more sense than the crap NVIDIA pulled with best buy, or other AIBs who just gave cards to retailers while throwing their hands up in the air because it wasn't their problem. Most AIBs didn't even bother with direct sales, they were happy to dump pallets of stock to the distributors and walk away with their payment. I wish more companies would offer direct sales like EVGA does, distributors are nothing more than car dealerships at this point who exist to take as large a cut of the sales price as they can.

No, you are totally wrong. EVGA queue was great, unique, and customer benefiting idea. You failed to understand that no one can sell you zero count product. You failed to understand that Nvidia only paper launched variety of 3000 models. In addition, you must learn to adjust you aim regarding supply/demand/availability/price of any product. This is friendly, eye-opening advice only.

wondering which GPU the OP wanted Each SKU had different restocking frequencies ... some not much at all & there was an advertised deadline for the "original price" only if your queue came up within the specified time .... then those pesky tariffs added up to 25% to the price

You were over 3 months late in joining the queue of an one of the cheapest SKUs of the most sought after GPU on the market. It's unfortunate that you weren't able to get one but the queue allowed for many to get cards without fighting bots/scalpers and spending endless hours and days attempting to monitor multiple retailers and checkout with the speed necessary to land one. With the queue I landed myself a 3090 kingpin and a 3090 ti kingpin, while also getting my best friend a 3080 10gb FTW3 Hybrid, my brother a 3080 Ti FTW3, and a work colleague a 3060 FTW3 during a time when getting most of those would've been nearly impossible.

I guess I was one of the unlucky ones. I waited for the 3090Ti Hydro Copper card, but recently received an email from EVGA that I was booted from the queue for the card and had to wait and see if it ever showed up as in stock. I decided to buy the 3080Ti FTW Hydro since it is in stock. I guess they don't built many Hydro Tis cards. I'm happy to get one at this point and can continue my now old build. It's been some years waiting though because I was not settling on just any card. I wanted a Ti Hydro.

there were a lot of cards that were announced but never fulfilled. I feel you - that is very frustrating. queues should have been merged but there really was no fair way to do it. you can't really fault EVGA too much - at least they made a real attempt to fill and satisfy retail directly. it is what it is at this point.

I think the important thing to remember is a vast majority of “I didn’t get a card” complaints are due to cards that are always know to have limited quantities, and low volume production. There are a few that were higher volumes that a few folks didn’t get, but most complaints I see are for Hybrid and Hydro variants, that are never made in mass quantities like air cooled cards. Some of the XC3 blacks were the outliers.

I am just wondering did other companies who didn't do a queue somehow do a better job? If EVGA didn't have a queue and just had the cards randomly show up on the website until sold out with a price that would go up based on the retail market made you happy? I personally am glad the queue system existed since it got cards into the hands of gamers even if not everyone got one. I understand the anger over waiting in the queue so long but really if the queue didn't exist the only option would be to pay the current price.

It was joke if you didnt get a card on time. Not for many (or some) who got the cards they wanted. I can tell you, this was one of the fairest options when stocks were so limited. Atleast many people got a card based on FCFS. Absolutely sorry for all those who stayed on the queue but never saw the light. It was imo. better than the F5 battle which lasted 2 seconds normally. I will add, I did get my card on the queue and I was really thankful

To be fair, EVGA is at the behest of Nvidia. They have to wait for the silicon.
