Was hoping to see if someone else has had a similar/the same issue and maybe I'm just missing something?
 
My X20 keyboard and X17 mouse came today. KB is working great, but the mouse I'm having problems with. Neither the left nor the right mouse buttons click? However if I slide my finger nail towards the top/front end of the mouse underneath either of the plastic pads that you push down on, I'm able to pull up on either of those pads with my finger nail and then i can just barely feel the resistance change and hear a click, and then windows detects the click. If I don't do the fingernail trick (for every mouse click) and try to use the mouse normally, both left and right click feel spongy, there is no audible click, and windows doesn't detect anything.
 
Am I missing something that comes in shipping that I'm supposed to remove? Or are the tolerances on my mouse off and I need to start an RMA? Would be a bummer since it took almost 2 weeks on shipping... 

Sounds pretty bad. I'm not seeing any easy to get at screws, but my guess it is got misaligned while being assembled.
My X17 is very satisfying to click, so there is definitely something wrong with yours.

Mine worked fine out o the box. I would contact support and see what they say.

Feb-23 @ 8am : opened a service ticket detailing my issue
Feb-23 @ 11:30am : reply from EVGA stating I needed to do an RMA
Feb-23 @ 4pm : RMA created. 2 options you can choose from with EVGA "standard" which you send the defective product back to them, they verify the issues THEN they send you a new product. Or what I went with "cross ship" which meant I had to pay for a new mouse that would be shipped immediately, and then when they get the defective product and verify the issue, they will refund you the second mouse. Worth noting that even though I paid the "elite" member pricing of $40 for the first mouse, I had to pay the full $80 for the second.
Mar-4 : New mouse received. The delay in shipping was frustrating, but the mouse shipped from California to Georgia with the freezing weather in Texas I think causing a delay. Can't really fault EVGA there
Mar-9: Now that I had a box that fit the mouse, I went to ship the original defective one back. Come to find out, every piece of info I could on EVGA's website stated -I- was responsible to ship the defective unit back. Since $15 for UPS shipping is less than my $80 being held as collateral, I bit the bullet and paid to ship it back. Direct quote from EVGA's shipping guidelines: "You are responsible for shipping costs to EVGA, including any duties, fees, taxes or customs charges incurred. Retain your tracking information for future reference until your RMA has been completed."

Mar-9 : I submitted another service ticket expressing my frustration on having to pay $15 to ship a DoA product back.  11 hours later I get a reply stating that it's actually EVGA's policy to provide a shipping label of the replacement is within 30 days of purchase. I replied back stating I had already paid the $15 to ship the mouse back. The reply I got in return was "We do apologize if that was not made clear." I guess I'm just supposed to know these things.
Mar-15 : I get my $80 back on my credit card.
 
 Both the second x17 mouse and my z20 keyboard feel and work great. However I am a little disappointed in the RMA process. So if you find this thread due to having DoA issues with your mouse, either plan to pay extra for the shipping or remember to ask EVGA for their secret "policy" of giving you a return label ahead of time

I would push for at least store credit on the shipping costs. Worth an email at least.
