I have recently noticed that the temps on my GTX 1080 Hybrid have been creeping up -- whereas they used to idle below/around 30 (maybe lower -- I just recall it was very cool), hitting 50 at absolute maximum under load, it now idles at 44C and rises to 70C under load. I suspect that the pump is dying on my AIO after almost 4 years. I'd like to keep the Hybrid shroud and just replace the AIO, but I note that EVGA has discontinued the 1080 Hybrid kits.

I found  where a guy claims to have used a 980Ti hybrid cooler on his 1080, so it got me wondering if the EVGA cards have the same mounting geometries for their coolers. Will the 20 or 30-series hybrid AIO fit on the 1080? Just by eye, the AIO looks pretty much identical, but obviously the mounting holes may be slightly different, etc. I plan to just use the AIO, and not replace the existing shroud from my 10-series hybrid kit. The 20-series kit would be ideal, since the radiator is just one fan (and so is a direct swap for my 1080 kit).

Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

As a note: if anyone has suggestions for diagnosing the temperature increases, I'm all ears.

Edit: The AIO has always been mounted above the GPU, at the top of the case. I am using the stock fan, which seems to still be operational.

After almost 4 years I'd take the thing apart, which is simple to do, and replace the TIM on the GPU chip with something like Kryonaut or MX-4 or liquid metal if you wanna go that route, and roll from there..I use Conductonaut liquid metal on CPU and GPU, it's magnificent stuff

The answer to your question about the 980ti kit is yes, the pump and radiator are the same for 9xx and 10xx cards.

I would agree with Bob and change the TIM first. From your post it appears the pump is still operating. Otherwise your temps would hit 90C fairly quickly under load. I just had to redo mine, exhibiting almost exactly your symptoms: from less than 50C under load to 70C. IC Diamond and I'm  back down to 22C idle and ~45-50ish under a full load.

Wanted to update here for posterity, and to thank those who responded. I replaced the TIM with MX4. I might not have done a stellar job, as I'm still seeing ~35-38 idle, but my load temps have come down to 50C under full load at default clock speeds, 60C maximum when OC'd. Thanks for the help!

Put a couple of quality fans running push pull off of a mother board header 75% or whatever speed gives you the best flow v noise profile for the fans and you could probably drop another 5C and be a lot quieter than running the single 'noisy' rad fan at 100%.
