If I am remembering right, back in the day any power supply over like 1200 watts needed one of those big 240 volt outlets. I almost have my new build ready and I was going to reuse my old ax 1200i in it but i am not sure i still have all the extra cables and i may be missing something, so I was thinking on simply replacing it ( its quite old now anyway ) and was looking at getting the ax1600 from corsair but i will only have the standard 120 volt.
Now, looking at the power cable, it looks like a standard one, so have things changed in the last 15ish years?

Correct plug are still standard for USA 120V 15 Amp outlet ... even on my EVGA 1600 Watt PSU

many PSU have dual Voltage ... but Not All ... check the sticker on your PSU

That PSU can be used with 120v outlets.

The new EVGA PSUs might work better for you.  And they are on sale.

The majority of psu's being manufactured now are switching power supplies and will work from ~110v-250v.

You will get better efficiency ratings from using a 240v source compared to a 120v, but that's about it.

Other thing to note for 1500w+ supplies is they can saturate the 15A breaker on most common 120v outlets (some do have 20A breakers but it's a bit rare) if you do use all the power available from the PSU.
