Hi all, Just had a quick question about the new 1.09 bios. Has anyone else had issues with memory training with this new bios? Seems like this new bios trains completely different than the older bios's. A memory profile that I had used on older bios's would post perfectly fine on 1.06, 1.07 but then on 1.09 it would get stuck on post code 09 for a few seconds and continue its boot, the post is never guaranteed and it will sometimes go from 09 to 7F and it would just sit there. Even standard XMP profile would do the same thing.

What kind of memory are you using? Is the problem with the initial training, or are you having issues with booting after the memory has already trained? I know Luumi said bios 1.07 works best for him. From what I gather 1.06 is best for single rank and 1.07 is best for dual rank. The last 2 bios havnt improved anything for me. Hopefully next bios will be better and will include a ppd setting.

Currently using the g.skill ripjaws V 4000mhz cl15 kit, and the problem is after training itll be stuck on post code 09 for a while, start cycling again, and it has a chance of not booting whatsoever.

I havnt had that issue, what frequency and timings are you going for? How does stability seem? I know you mentioned timings that trained on 1.06 couldnt train on 1.09, what were those timings? I would try reflashing 1.09 and if that doesnt change things, return to 1.06/1.07 and do some testing to make sure the issue arent still present. I went back to 1.06 because it seems like its been the best for single sided ram.

How do you like that 4000c15 ? Does it train 1t above 4400? I have a set of gskill 3600 cl14 neos and i can run them 4800mhz, but I cant get 1t to train over 4400mhz. Its weird too because at 4500+mhz I can tighten Rtls alot tight than what 1t provides, I can do 63 64 7 7 with manual rtls. I tried some 4400 patriots which couldnt do cr 1 either. I guess 1t doesnt matter much if you set rtls and iols manually, it matters more if you run auto rtls and iols.

I won't be able to try it out again for at least a week since I'm in the process of rmaing my 10900k, but I will let you know how it is afterwards.

Its an insanely good kit for 2T, but for 1T it doesn't post higher than 4500-4600

I guess it just depends on the kit whether it can do 1t or not. That sucks about you 10900k, what happened to it? When you were having the booting issues was it with the cpu your rmaing? Maybe a new cpu will behave differently. I would love one of those golden 10900ks Luumi and Linus got, along with a cryo cooler. I'm delidded with direct die cooling, can run 5.4 daily and bench @ 5.5, but it takes 1.45v. I don't think the cryo cooler will work with direct die unfortunately.

not even sure but thats one of the things thats making me think it was my imc causing all these weird posting issues. We'll see in around a week hopefully when I get a new one from this rma.

That sounds like it could of been a imc issue. Good luck with the new cpu and let me know how things turn out.
