Hey guys, I have a quick question for my fellow lucky people with FTW 3080'S. I got the card maybe 2 months ago now, and I'm defiantly a "Noise snob" , I just like things quite, and once I booted my system for the first time and realized the card had a ZeroDB mode, I was SUPER HAPPY! Now, after I installed precision x1, it right away let me know that my card had a firmware update , which of course I did. But now, my fans never ramp down to zero unless I put them on auto an do it myself? Regardless to Bios being in "normal" mode. Don't get me wrong, its not super loud , I'm not like going crazy over here, I know how lucky I am, just more confused.

I saw somewhere on this forum that someone had also posted about this, so I hope to find out soon.

Currently I have updated PX to its latest "RE-BAR" update, but haven't yet installed new bios that comes with update automatically because I have an Intel I9-9900k, and from what I can tell, it wont apply to me anyway.

Let me know what you guys think'

I am assuming you mean you are taking the fans OFF "auto" to make manual adjustments, right? So "auto" by itself won't let the fans go down to 0%?

You might be on your OC bios. Flip the switch to go back to standard. Your card has dual bios, and the OC setting has a different fan profile that doesn't let it idle at 0% for overclocking purposes.

Yes, Auto by itself will keep fans at 33 always, then ramp normal from there.

Its on normal VBios as well, I am aware of this and have checked multiple times inculding just now to be 100 percent sure, but no, its on "Normal" Not "OC" .

very strange, I see others in the forum with what seems to be same issue?

Now that you mention it I do see another thread about it suggesting there is a legitimate bug: https://forums.evga.com/3080-FTW3-Ultra-REBAR-bios-FAN-BUG-with-X1-118-m3249448.aspx I was unaware of this, I have an XC3 myself. Sorry!

Jacob replied to the thread I linked an hour ago and said the fix will arrive via MCU update. They are working on it.

It stands for microcontroller unit (I think). Doesn't matter though he just means you'll get an update in Precision.
