Got the same problem and my fans plugged into the gpu aren't spinning

I feel like we need a thread for this, as the messages are getting lost in the main threads among other people asking.
 
So to keep it tl:dr, since updating to new vBios and Precision X1 1.1.8, the fans on 3080 FTW3 Ultra are all messed up. It seems only the third fan is dropping below 33%, while the other 2 are stuck. Also under fan speed it can be seen that only the third fan allows input of 0% while other two have it on 33%.
 
I've attached the image of the problem. We probably need a precision update or MCU update to fix this.
 

 
The fans are spinning, it's just not showing on the right side.
 
On the left side you can see the actual RPM and on the card you will see they are turning.

Did anybody found solution? Has anybody tried installing previous Precision 1.1.7 and then reinstall 1.1.8? 

So, when are EVGA planning to solve this problem? I fed up from EVGA and Precision. first is the conflict that causes xbox store to crash every time the precision is on. now fans stuck at 33%, i wonder what's coming next!
 
hey Donnie, what other devices you are using, i have exactly the same problem and there should be something in common whos causing this problem. 
 
logitech f710 pad
thrustmaster airbus stick and quadrant 
TT RGB software for TT watercooling
 
It took me a month to understand that the Thrustmaster Quadrant causing a conflict with logitech F710 in some games, eg.. Fifa20, NFS heat (some people will thank me for this because it was really frustrating)

I don't think anything in common we have that would cause this. I think it's most likely a small bug in the MCU firmware that got flashed immediately upon opening the Precision X1 1.1.8. There's a 1.1.8.1 floating around, I'll find a link and update, maybe somebody can try and see if it fixes the issues.

Thanks for acknowledgement. The issue is not only with the 4th external fan, but also the 3rd fan acting out of sync, and fans not dropping below 33%. Basically all of us have the same issues. If it helps my card is black lips 10G-P5-3897-KR

Same on my 3090 FTW3U. I have to manually set fans in Afterburner.

We're aware of the issue.  So far, we haven't been able to reproduce it in-house, but it's being looked into.

steps to reproduce :
1.  take a 3080 FTW3 Ultra
2.  Flash XOC 450W bios on both Normal and OC switches
3.  Install and boot 1.1.7 PX1
4.  Open PX1 1.1.7
5.  Allow all updates to the card (MCU ect)
6.  Uninstall PX1 1.1.7
7.  Install and boot 1.1.8 PX1
8.  Initiate the BIOS update procedure
9.  Reboot to find fan issues with reporting on Fan3 and no fan curve for Fan4 (ext)

Thanks but would you explain no. 9? What is reporting on fan 3 and no curve for fan 4? How should we control the 4th fan?

I believe he meant that Step 9 isn't so much about reproducing the issue, but rather his experience after rebooting the system.

In the meantime I tried 1.1.8.1 update of Precision and it didn't fix the fan issues. Btw did you all also get a firmware update once you installed 1.1.8? My card went full vents and updated firmware first. 
 
Hopefully this can get resolved soon..

So are you supposed to be able to zero out all three fans on the 3080 FTW3 Ultra....?

Any update guys apart from bios flash?

have you thought of BIOS flash ?   seems this issue will take them a while to recover. they said an update will be released mid next week but they don't promise it will solve it.
