Hey all, I just switched my card from an MSI 2070 super trio x to an EVGA 3080 FTW3 Ultra, and I noticed a mild heat output (i didn't need to turn on the heater in my room), I checked the temps and it runs at 74C which is fine (the rest of my computer is unchanged)but it is about 8-9C higher than my previous GPU.

I would like to "undervolt" it or overclock (without the extreme bios due to a 750W PSU) to eat less power or stay at 68C at max. How can I do that?

Thank you for your answer,
Peter

    Welcome to the EVGA Forums

All 3080 series card pull more watts than the previous 2080 series cards - which pulled more than the 2070 cards ... So, more heat is Normal

The stock fan profile is designed for quiet operation over cooler operation

List your case & case fan setup & other hardware so members have a better idea of what you have ... makes making suggestions easier

EVGA Precision X1 ... Will allow you to change fans, OC & Power settings ... however Voltage curve seems to be challenging (broken?) ... Using the Power setting could lower temps

MSI AB ... can not control the 3 fans (only 2 fans) ... however there are article online on how to use it

Thank you for your answer, I have an i7 10700k, Z490 Tomahawk, 32gb ddr4 TridentZ neo ram, Thermaltake j23 TG RGB case, and 2 Noctua nf s12a pulling out the air, and 3 basic thermaltake fans pulling in air at 100%, and i also have a dark rock pro 4 for the CPU.

I am using the "normal bios" since i use the pc for work too, however pushing the fans higher means more noise, so i would like to limit the clockspeeds (Or is it a bad idea?).
I haven't used the evga X1 software but Im gonna look into ti.
