Asynchronous Fan Speed 3080 XC3 Ultra

I'm not super familiar with GPU fan technology, so this question is more for my peace of mind than anything else.
 
I just purchased the 3080 XC3 Ultra last week and have been fiddling to get acceptable temps in my warm office. No matter what fan curve I set, Fan 3 is the only one to run at the correct speeds. Fans 1 and 2 tends to run at half speed or even less than what I've set their curves to.
 
I'm using the latest version of Precision and did update the firmware when prompted.
 
Is this the intended/expected iCX3 performance?

    Install driver 456.71 and things should work better.

    I'm already using Nvidia driver 457.09. Do you recommend rolling back?

    same thing for me with the 3070, and the older drivers don't support that (don't know what might be involved in getting it to work or whatever, but the fan speed issue isn't horrible for me atm, even if I don't have the options of older drivers.

    Rolling back to 456.71 did the trick, thanks!
     
    Looks like Nvidia is aware of the issue with 457.09, hopefully it's resolved soon for the 3070 owners

    Effects us 3080 owners as well. Think it’s a widespread RTX 3000 problem in general. Hoping they fix it soon.
