First off I was lucky to get my card @ MSRP+shipping. What dose your 3090 boost to WITHOUT any manual OCing. Mine sits @ 1950 mhz all the time on the core and 9752 mhz on the memory. 1075mV 99% use, 60-65c. I have a EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 FTW3 ULTRA GAMING, 24G-P5-3987-KR, 24GB GDDR6X with a EK-Quantum Vector FTW3 RTX 3080/3090 D-RGB - Nickel + Plexi. I play Star Citizen and this is where it sits while I play in Alpha 13.3, playing @ 4k max settings. Just trying to see what other get. I have found out in Star Citizen OC video cards don't play well. Anyway the 3090 don't need to be OC to play games. Thanks for all your input.

It won't boost past the specified boost clock which can be seen in GPU-z if you don't specifically overclock it.

Do you have boost lock on? It should clock according to the temp shouldn't?

Keep in mind this is a Kingpin with a HydroCopper block on it: Stock it will hit 2025-2055MHz core, with it typically being at 2040-2055 now that the temperatures are much lower than with the Hybrid/stock cooling. GPUz shows 1920 boost so the specified boost clock talk is a bit off, at least for this card. I believe my 3090 FTW3 Hybrid I had previously typically ran in the 1965-1995MHz range. Not positive though, it's been a while since I had that thing.

You don’t have to manually overclock your card to enjoy it. It’s already fast enough at stock speeds to play anything out there at 4K and max settings. Just playing games is “enjoying“ the card. Today’s cards, if you keep the temps in check overclock themselves anyway. My card for instance is just a stock PNY reference board 3090 and by water cooling it, the core jumped from hovering in the 1920Mhz boost range on the stock cooler to 1980-2015Mhz with the block. That’s honestly where I leave it these days. I don’t use a manual offset. No need at all to push it further just to game on. I used to be all into the overclocking scene, but the reality of the matter is that for gaming it quite honestly doesn’t matter. That’s all I do on my PC these days, and that may be all the OP does with his. That’s enjoying it enough to me.

Any card will boost to the top of the VF curve at either stock voltage (1063) or max voltage (1093-1.1) if it has enough power. Most cards don't have enough power on the stock bios except for cards like KP and FTW3. This is very dependent on the game you play too. Some will use a lot more power at a specific voltage than others. (try getting to max voltage running Quake 2 RTX for example). And the KP has a higher VF curve to start with so it'll end up 30-60 mhz higher at the same core temp.

No need to overlock a 3090 unless you're playing MSFS.. otherwise you're just burning up the lifespan.
