Are you using LN2? I personally don't even bother plugging mine in until I'm at -100C pot temperature because above that I don't find it necessary.

So my personal experience is that the inferno just doesn't have enough of a benefit on DICE, but your case may vary. Do not plug in the heater until the pot/cpu/mobo is cold, as I said in my previous post I do not bother turning it on until I hit -100C pot temperature. I find that the included thermal pad that is the same shape as the heater sticks a bit too well once you remove the included plastic covering, so a tip I got from another over clocker was to use plastic wrap on both sides of the thermal pad. Once you have the thermal pad on the heater you will need to actually jab the mounting rods through the thermal pad to screw them into the heater. Then I lower the motherboard onto the rods and mount my CPU pot. Imgur link below so you can see how I setup. (start at the bottom)

I do use the Inferno with DICE and it works to limit condensation in and around the socket.  I plug it in while temperature is dropping, usually around 0C and unplug at about that point while warming after the session.
