I'm looking at upgrading CPUs to the AMD release this year or intel if they have any deals for black friday. Do you think it is worth hanging on to this H100 v1 (upgraded with noctua fans)? It does well with my recently de-lidded 8700k, but imagine I should go to something better to handle more cores.

I picked up the new Corsair 4000X RGB case so have space for about any liquid cooler. As someone who usually researches items for weeks before buying I'm trying to get a good idea what a buy in advance of making the CPU and MOBO purchase. TIA

Personally, I would wait and see how the H100 v1 works on the new CPU..You might consider using Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut liquid metal TIM, the stuff is amazing with 73 W/mk Thermal Conductivity  ..A 1g tube will go a long way.

Thanks Bob. I did use conductonaut liquid metal when I delidded, but used kryonaut between the cooler and CPU. It is currently now running under 70 when maxed out in the new case. Will see how the PC performs after I get a new GPU (hopefully soon) before getting anything else.
