If I miss out on this 3090 FE I guess I'll be waiting for the Nvidia or EVGA 3080 TI FTW3 which better at least be 16GB. I'm gonna assume most enthusiasts are on board with me here.

1/ Never assume. It makes an ass out of you and me ;-)
2/ We don't have power ratings. But yeah, 850W should be enough.
3/ The 3080 FTW3 won't be 16GB. There is literally nobody that teased more ram than what NVidia announced on any of their cards.
If you want more RAM, you gotta get the 3090, or wait for future SKUs with 16/20GB of RAM.

I doubt we'll see any TI, super or uprated card for a year, dependent on what AMD announces. With rumored supply crunches it makes no sense for NVIDIA to make anything new until sales begin to taper off

Why don't we wait and see what the supply looks like before we start making plans for the next 2y ;-)

Why wouldn't 850w be enough?  Pretty simple math tells you that there is a lot of overhead in your current setup.
