Hey everyone,
Hoping someone has the info I'm hoping for. So in my infinite wisdom I ran my BIOS update from Windows and got welcomed by 4 beeps on boot with code 98 showing on my debug screen

. Pretty sure last time I updated my BIOS it was done through the BIOS screen, not sure why I did it through Windows this time, any way.
*Forgot to mention, I was installing BIOS version 2.06. My previous version I believe was 2.02 or 2.03.
Code 98 is "Console input devices connect"
Getting stymied by a couple of things.
First, my motherboard is an Z170 FTW (140-SSE177). I cannot for the life of me figure out where the GD serial number is on this motherboard. I've pulled my video card out, RAM, taken the CPU fan out and don't see any stickers that have the SN number on it. Any know where it should be? My box got turfed six years ago. Register my product without the serial number, so I can't submit a ticket.
Second I keep seeing conflicting information about whether or not the Z170 FTW has a dual BIOS setup or any method for recovery from a bad BIOS update. Can anyone confirm or deny if the Z170 has a way to recover?
I was just running with default settings, no overclocking at all.
