Stock backplate on EK Gpu waterblock

Has anybody fitted the stock backplate on their 2080 ftw3 with a EK waterblock as I don't like the EK one.

Asus Rog Maximus XII Formula
10700K @ 4.8ghz 1.20v
16Gb 8Pack 3600hz
EVGA 2080 Super FTW3 Ultra
Watercooled
Phantek Evolv X

    If i remember right the stock backplate will not fit at all with the EK block, you must use the EK backplate with it or no backplate at all.

    EK backplates usually use larger diameter screws, to match the tapped (threaded) holes in the water block ....
     
     
    on my 1080 Ti - the stock backplate could be used with the EK block - if your opened up the hole a little, so the EK sized screws would fit
