Alright. I'm out of ideas so I'm posting here for any help whatsoever. I've just build my first rig on a z370 micro and I cant get it to post. At first the issue was a bios (1.05) that was incompatible with my processor (i7 9700kf). It would consistently give me the d6 error and never post which I attributed to the wrong bios. Today I had a friend over and we threw in his 8700k to get the bios updated. At first, it powered on, cycled through some codes, and then his a code (I cant remember whichm though it was probably c) and the memory error led was on. After a few more tried and swapping around some memory dimms, it randomly decided to post, (this is where I was able to confirm the bios version). Like an idiot though, I realised I forgot to extract the file with the bios update in it so I powered down the computer, extracted the file on another device, and then when I powered back on, nothing. So that leaves me here now, every time I power on the board I get a c error, no beeps, and a memory error led. I also noticed that the case fans stopped working, however rgb headers are still working fine by the looks of it. Another point of interest is that the cpu power error led turns on whenever the system is powered down, but turns off as soon as power is turned on. It has been like that since I got the board and I do not know if this is normal. I have tested the power supply on another system and it works fine. I have also tested one ram dimm in each of the slots and it has made no difference. I suspect the board somehow got shorted but I have no idea how. Any imput on the matter would be greatly appreciated.
