According to the findings of a Chiphell user called "wjm47196", AMD is supposedly going to host an event at CES 2020 to showcase its next generation of Radeon graphics cards. Having seen huge success with its first-generation "RDNA" GPUs, AMD is expected to showcase improved lineup utilizing new and improved RDNA 2 graphics card architecture.

Judging by the previous information, second generation of RDNA graphics cards will get much-needed features like ray tracing, to remain competitive with existing offers from NVIDIA and soon Intel. Supposed to be built using the 7 nm+ manufacturing process, the new GPU architecture will get around 10-15% performance improvement due to the new manufacturing process alone, with possibly higher numbers if there are changes to the GPU core.

If this is true then AMD will be able to release next year's GPU ahead of NVIDIA who is (via the rumor mill) to release their next gen GPU in the 1st half of 2020.

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X,  Corsair Mp700 Pro M.2, 64GB Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5  X670E Steel Legend, MSI RTX 4090 Associate Code: H5U80QBH6BH0AXF. I am NOT an employee of EVGA

It's cool that AMD is bringing their 2nd gen gpu's to market, I'm no AMD fan, however, hopefully they can mustered more than 10-15-20% performance increase. I don't think

will compete with 2080ti that is already over a year old, thus no reason for Nvidia to be in rush to bring out the big gun.

I really wouldn't be surprised if they didn't show it off at CES since so far we haven't seen a AMD hardware ray tracing card but yet we know both Sony and Microsoft will have hardware ray tracing in the next generation consoles which will have an AMD GPU running the games. Normally we don't see the consoles themselves running the games but instead PC hardware that is shown at trade shows that allow for the big screens used at the show that the home gamer won't have. Of course we normally would have seen a demo of something about a year out and haven't so who knows since by E3 everything should be pretty set in stone for the final version since it's only a few months out at that point.
