I have had a problem today with temps of my cpu spiking high and noticed this on the tube going from the pump to the res. Now the temps have been in the mid 30's deg C to low 40's deg C coolant temp in the high 20's deg C with an all core over clock on a 7700K at 1.070 volts. now its sitting 10 Deg C higher with no change on the over clock or voltage. Room temp is 20 Deg C

Yes, if the unit has been leaking.

rgr that Sajin.  I have not noticed any leaks of coolant anywhere in the rig could it be/might it be just a slight permeation and that I have caught it in time

Have you delidded your 7700K? Before I had it delidded it would also sit 20-30 degrees above the coolant temp.

Yeah, unfortunately due to Kaby Lake really dropping the ball on heat transfer between the chip and the lid you're going to see pretty significant differences between the chip temp and the coolant temp. The differences get even more pronounced under heavy load, and I would assume overclocking would also widen the gap.

The good news is if you can have it properly delidded those issues should go away. My delidded 7700K sits around 35 C idle (with 30 C coolant) and 45-50 C under mid/heavy gaming load (with coolant sitting around 35 C).

the temps were fine its just that small area on the clc tube that is causing me concern.
