Wondering if the card can run 4k(3840x2160) @ 120Hz? Was worried at first cause could only get 60Hz, but realized it was my HDMI cable. Tried a few I had & only were same resolution @30Hz. So ordered a new HDMI 2.1 cable, but noticed the card only has a 2.0b HDMI port. The display port is HDMI 1.4 ... so there's my question. Love this card so not interested in upgrading. Have it matched with Ryzen 5 2600 MSI X470 Gaming Plus 2x8gigs of Corsair LPX DDR4 @3200Mhz Samsung 850 Pro 512gx2 in Raid-0 Also run a LG 24" LED side monitor (1920x1080) @60Hz & new one is a Vizio V405-G9 40" 4k 120Hz TV Did a little research & some ppl also run diff refresh rate monitors with no issue. Just wanted to make sure cause I can cancel this cable thanks in advance for any & all replies. Excuse my shortened gibberish

Over hdmi you will need to run in 4:2:0 mode to get 120 Hz.

Ok found the setting in the drivers. Only have the 4:2:2 option or the 4:4:4. So when I get the cable in from Amazon I will test it

Also, why? Why do I have to do this? Not that it's an issue. But was curious as to the reason, I'm assuming it's hardware related.

Because hdmi 2.0/2.0b cannot do 120 hz at full chroma.

Ok well alleged 4k @ 120Hz cable isn't showing an option above 30Hz ... set color to 4:2:2 & tried 4:4:4 ... is there something I'm missing? Setting I've overlooked?

I can assure you that your card will not run that frame rate so it doesnt matter. It takes SLI 1080Ti to give me over 100FPS in games.

I've bought 3-4 cables off ebay/Amazon ... none of them can do it. All DP 1.4 to HDMI 2.0b ... if I could only find a cable that can ACTUALLY do these numbers ...

I figured the card wouldn't game @120Hz ... but give me 60Hz @ 4k ... can't get above 30Hz it seems ...

Anyhow, running 4K on a Samsung JU7100, HDMI 2.0. Similar set up. Save yourself the headache and just run at 60hz with the standard Nvidia Control Panel settings of RBG Full. If you have DSR enabled, disable it. Set your TV to whatever game mode(s) enhancements it has to reduce latency. HDR is still a mess over HDMI and TVs... One of these days it will all get standardized.

You seemed pretty normal to me considering I know how frustrating it can be when you think something should just work.... I'm getting old. I was checking out a new pre-amp...pretty much just a plug and play swap out. Well you know some label them 'outputs' others tape and others 'tape loop'. Well for someone who has been doing electronics/electro-mechanical work for nearly a half century...it took me entirely too long to figure out I had them swapped...and then, since I had two input sources I managed to mix the two inputs so I had two different sound sources, one in each channel...I took a nap...
