Or do we have what we have at this point? My uncle has been my PC gaming partner for the past 20yrs and is pretty much the only reason I still heavily PC game. Every two years he’ll splurge and buy me at minimum new CPU/Motherboard/RAM and I’ll build him a new system out of my old components. Yah I know it seems counterproductive but he learned over a decade ago that I’ll let my components go to the bleeding edge of obsolescence before upgrading. So about a year and a half ago a box of Asus Maximus X/8700k/32 gb Corsair Vengeance DDR4 arrived but shortly after life got in the way so much that anything PC related moved to the back burner. Now that I’m ready to stick it all together I’d like to pickup a SFF board and part ways with the Maximus but everything else being EVGA with loud EVGA lighting(2x 1080tis, SLI Bridge, AIO cooler), I’d like to keep the board EVGA. With the z370 Micro out of production, the only other option I can think of is to sell both CPU and Mobo and move to the x299.
The even worse thing is I actually have all the EK components for a ridiculously expensive, overkill, custom loop minus a few fittings that were out of stock when I put in my order, including both EVGA 1080 Hydrocoppers but I just don’t have the time to invest in assembling.
Any chance we see a Z390 Micro or is the Stinger all we are likely to get? If it’s the latter I guess the x299 route will be the way I go unless there is something on the horizon(I haven’t been keeping tabs on hardware roadmaps either)
