The first batch of 2080 series had a higher than usual failure rate, I no longer see such reports on forums and reddit, has Nvidia resolved the issues in the later batches? Is it safe to buy 2080 Ti's now?

You should be good but a lot of people would recommend getting an extended warranty on the card. If your not an associate rewards program memeber I probably would use the code of someone and use the savings toward the warranty for the added piece of mind since with every generation of graphics cards some people just get unlucky.

I buy Nvidia since Geforce 3 and I can't remember such a mess (all models from all brands dying) where even replacement cards can be defective. It's not about luck this time...

it's a mess with this 2000 gen. i remember buying the new Geforce4 back in the day... since then i only had one ATI card and i regretted it... but this time.. nvidia really shoot its own foot. there is no kind word anywhere about this generation. i need a gfx card.. badly.. and unfortunately.. the faith in the 2000 gen is not great... its almost none.. and no decent priced 1080Ti in the horizon as they are no longer in production and the new gen is at least a year away from now. i really dunno what to do.

there was someone here in Portugal in Oporto ( really near my location) selling a EVGA 1080Ti and claiming it has 2 year warranty transfer. i went looking into it... and saw he bought in on ebay and evga does not transfer warranty from stuff bought on ebay. the price was decent (600€). but who knows what he did with it in the 1rst year he had it. mining took a lot of life from many gfx used cards out there in the market.

Not sure if its different outside the US but in the states, if you get it from Ebay, it's a second hand purchase and the warranty stay's with the GPU based on the manufactured date and not when it was originally purchased IIRC.

I've had an EVGA 2080ti XC Ultra for 4 months now with no issues, no regrets, best gpu I've ever owned(there's been quite a few). I've always purchase EVGA with the confidence that if I have an issue they'll be there. Extended warranty adds to the peace of mind.

If it's from an authorized retailer 'sold and shipped' from Amazon, you're good otherwise a 3rd party seller it would be considered a 2nd hand warranty. As for ebay, you could still purchase again from Authorized retailers like Newegg or of course EVGA's ebay store and be fine.

no clue on that actually. so i wasn't very sure of that.... either way for 120€ plus i already pulled the trigger on a brand new Inno3D GTX 1080Ti iChill x4 i've read good things about it (and if the shop has it of course. cause it seems there are only a few models left in the capital in Lisbon and nowhere else...) even evga brand for the 1080 series is very very scarce here cause only 1 SHOP still sells them in the whole country.

No!!!! It is NOT safe. I bought... it failed... I RMA'd, the second one failed... locking up system. completely unstable. I put back in an old gtx 970 card and the system is completely stable again... worst 1300 I have ever spent. I just got rid of my 1080ti card... big mistake!

Sorry to hear that. Having one RMA is one thing but 2nd or beyond is really rare. Not saying this could be it but this series doesn't jive well with existing system OC's, certain software, etc. You basically need to start fresh and hope you tried everything in stock settings, temps were within permitted range and a possibly system change or PSU. These GPU's need a bit of extra attention but once it works, it's a pretty powerful GPU.

Quite common actually a friend of mine had 2 EVGA RTX 2080 Ti's they died within 4 & 12 days, these were from the first batch, an other friend from2CPU.com had a Gigabyte and a Zotac Diu on him within 7 days with the Gigabyte board and the Zotac board gave artifacts after the 2nd month. months time. All RTX boards have very high RMA rates best to avoid these and just ho[pe the RTX 30 series will fix things, many of my friends AMD as I did I was done with the careless customer service NV left me with I felt robbed and ignored, all AMD now and no issues and much better image quality, then again I rarely play games but if I do there are no issues and all 60fps @ 1600p As most know I had always been an EVGA GeForce user since the EVGA 8800 Ultra SC's, & GTX 295 RE's. EVGA GTX 480's 580 SC's & 680 SC Sig's all cards ran great. the EVGA GTX 1080 FTW2 ran also great but after 384.94 WHQL the black screens appeared when using the internet and before start up I tested 13+ drivers after 384.94 and they all failed and my issue was never sold, so I take a break from NVIDIA went AMD and so far I have no more issues. The RTX series are the worst cards since the GeForce FX series from 2002, the RMA rate is high and the prices are ridiculous. For 35+% Performance from a 1080 Ti to a 20180 Ti you pay more than 48% in price increase thus a bad upgrade, no matter how you see it. If you prefer NVIDIA try finding some GTX 1080 Ti's or TITAN X Pascals . TITAN Xp's for a good deal second hand, they seem to be quite decent. Overall I am just done with the lies NV keeps using: I won't fall for their marketing garbage , just not stupid enough, yet i am sick of their ongoing malarkey So do I advise people to buy these RTX boards? My simple reply: No not for one bit, avoid them even if your life would have to depend on 'em. Wait for the RTX 30 series and hope they don't have the sloppy mass RMA issues these RTX 20 series are suffering from.

Hmm I'd say the same if I was an EVGA moderator or NVIDIA supporter, but can you explain why professionals are actually proving so many issues ? Sorry I don't want to sound ridiculous but come with actual facts before posting such false hopes man, sorry. Well.. I read more problem threads of RTX cards dying than actual good ones, JayzTwoCents, Gamer Nexus,, UDF Tech, not an apple fan all the videos I have posted prove it all in a nutshell.
All in all these cards are unreliable, great for that 1 a 2% of the gamers than had good luck with these cards the other 98% that RMA's them seem to being ignored, not the first time that I am seeing that.

I think some people are assuming too much. Fake news train making its way around the forums. Have facts or you could be liable for defamation.

If there was an issue with video cards either NVIDIA and/or EVGA would have made an announcement. NVIDIA and EVGA must obey the consumer laws for every country in which they sell their products. I haven't seen any recall actions from any company selling RTX 2080ti video cards. Sometimes you see issues posted here if someone has a problem with a video card but what you don't see are the thousands and thousands of users who are NOT having issues of any kind. Most of the articles you refer to were from 2018 and I haven't seen anything posted for 2019 about such issues. If you need more info contact EVGA tech support.

Well the people I know don't make things up, there is a megaton of facts out there yet people keep denying them that isn't making things better to be very honest. NVIDIA always has ways of lying themselves out of it and people that are supports of them take that malarkey for real. Well I don't need to contact EVGA tech support rofl, but still at 2CPU.com we have a few members that had RTX boards that camp with continuous issues. So far I can see sources like JayzTwoCents, Gamer Nexus and all those others I mentioned I'd trust those over what is being said here, even the amount of threads even in this very forum is alarming. NVIDIA is the most misleading, ant-consumer and non-competitive company I have every experienced, gladly this will change within 10 years.. I have a card since end of november, I (for undisclosed reason) play games for 8hours a day and do some other stuff when not playing, so my card runs for 10-12 hours a day under load. Its 2080 Ti FTW3 and I had to RMA ONCE because of coil whine and nothing else. My card still works without a problem with same OC when I got it. Its sad to see people having problem with the card but I thankfully had 0 major problems so far (only coil whine). I also have a 2080 for 3 months with samsung memory and it can OC really well and still works completely fine. As for you Gold Leader, 48% for 35% is pretty bad, but for me it holds value as someone using 165hz 1440p screen. Would I recommend them? Unless you have money to burn, no. But for my self and my usage, I am very happy with the purchase because it delivers exactly what I have been wanting for over 3years. And before you say 1080 Ti is enough, its not, not for my use case.

As I mentioned before NVIDIA and EVGA have to obey consumer protection laws in every country in which they sell their products. If there were any major problems you would see this splashed on every major business publication on the planet. You don't see anything like that right now so as far as I am concerned the issue is very minor and equal to the normal amount of RMAs for a video graphics card product. You posted this article https://www.gurufocus.com...23/can-nvidia-rebound- which talks about sales and not about defects.

This is not even worth my time to respond but I will just say this. Most RMA's I've seen here in these forums were complains about coil whine. That's it. I wouldn't call that a major issue or defect.
Gold, you're out of your league and mind. You complaining about complaints isn't going to get you anywhere. Maybe they should stop selling in your country for the low amount of sales and headaches they would endure?

Gold Leader Sorry I don't want to sound ridiculous but come with actual facts before posting such false
You tell people to come with actual facts before posting, and then in the same exact post write Gold Leader great for that 1 a 2% of the gamers than had good luck with these cards the other 98% that RMA's them seem to being ignored
So since you only post actual facts, can you please provide me where you got this 98% RMA statistic? I would like to see it. As for me, my EVGA RTX 2080 FTW3 Hybrid is still running strong with absolutely zero problems. Well the only problem I got from it was that I wanted even more and now I'm in queue to step up to the 2080 Ti GTXJackBauer this series doesn't jive well with existing system OC's
This was true for me. Ever since I got my i7 3820 I've been running a stable 24/7 OC all these years, never a single problem. Install my 2080 and can't even boot into Windows. Took the OC off and no problem. I just had to add barely any more voltage and I'm back to stable

Just because your RTX card is running flawlessly does not mean all of them do. You are lucky and that is it. Too bad most of the RTX cards are not just as good as yours, because of the many and i mean tons of bad experience from users and reviewers alike, Nvidia has been forced to drop the prices of the GPU you own.
T hose who abuse power, are nothing but scumbags! The challenge of power is how to use it and not abuse it. The abuse of power that seems to create the most unhappiness is when a person uses personal power to get ahead without regards to the welfare of others, people are obsessed with it. You can take a nice person and turn them into a slob, into an insane being, craving power, destroying anything that stands in their way. Affiliate Code: 3T15O1S07G

So you are saying that most (which means over 50%) of the RTX cards are bad. Could you please provide me with this statistic? I just find that very hard to believe like the 98% RMA statistic.

You won't find it but they'll just keep repeating the same thing in hopes everyone starts believing it as true.

I go by the market share, by the reviewers, users experience in this forum and other forums who are and are not Nvidia owned and they all come with the same complaint, feedback and issues, etc. Who do you go by?" how do you determined the launch success of a GPU? I will forward the links but whats the point if you are going to ignore them or a Moderator comes a remove them due to conflict interest with the company they worked for? you can google it like most do.
