Ever since upgrading to a 2080 Ti, whenever I first turn on my computer the monitor won't turn on unless I unplug the display port from the monitor and back in.
I was getting similar issues with sleep, but the latest driver seems to have mitigated that. However the monitor still wakes up slowly, OR sometimes flickers a few times if it fell asleep for a long time.

I have a ASUS ROG Swift PG27UQ 27" 4K UHD 144Hz DP HDMI G-SYNC HDR Aura Sync Gaming Monitor with Eye Care (https://amzn.to/2AYBjgK)

This problem has persisted across a couple different 2080 Ti cards, including a FTW3 during testing.
I have tried different DP cables, and different ports on the cards. Not sure what else to try to stop the power on issue. I'm going to wear out my DP port by re-plugging it all the time.

Buy a vesa certified dp cable like this one. I have the predator x27 and use the same cable. No issues here on first boot.

Hmm that's a good idea, I tried several DP cables, but they were all ones that came with monitors. Thanks :)

Yup, latest build and drivers. Ordered the cable Sajin mentioned, will see how that goes.
