Well guys, yesterday, I got it to JUST about 5.0 GHz (4.98 isn't bad, right?): https://valid.x86.fr/x0iapl Well, I took a look at my old best score (actually more so, my daily clock speed: https://valid.x86.fr/2ttkws) and I see that it is significantly better (multithread) at lower clock speeds. I'm playing around with the idea in my head of reverting back to an older BIOS without spectre patch on my system to see if I can get that performance increase back to finally get about that 7920X performance ;) Either way, I'm slowly working my way towards my 5.2 GHz goal, although my 8th core doesn't like to play ball!

Anybody else have similar score changes?

Let me know!

I already spent the money on the board prior to the Dark releasing sadly... I have thought about purchasing the dark, but I would be unable to use the monoblock I have for my board. :(

    Congrats on 30,000 posts :D

And thank you. My goal has been 5.2 since I purchased it but the 8th core seems to not want to go much higher than what I have it here unless voltage is stupidly high (1.4 ish)

    My 7820x @ 5.1GHz...

As you can see it took "stupid high" voltage...lol.

I am away from my machine until after New Years.  I will run her at 5GHz when I get home...that takes about 1.4v.  Daily driver mode is 4.8GHz @ 1.285v.

Are you using a chiller / Dry ice for that result w/ a voltage that high? Been trying to not go over 1.4 due to temperature constraints with my waterloop.

Your daily is very close to mine, however I have a good bit less voltage to run it than yours. I sit @ 1.245v for that 4.785 GHz clock speed I use daily. Mind uploading a benchmark / CPU-z results for that? I know .04 is not a HUGE jump, but I do see that difference in temperatures. Perhaps I should play around with that voltage a bit more and see what I can do with it...

Hey Jacob this is really sweet nice overclock.

I got the same chip and planning to delid soon to get better temps.

Can you please run passmark cpu bench for single thread performance and post results!

    @4.7ghz i get 2700

I have a feeling that max is 2860ish @5ghz but not sure till i delid.

Looking forward ro your reply and pics!

Sorry I just saw this Jacob.  The chip was delidded and running under just a H115i.  I swapped to a 9900k setup last week and actually sold that CPU Friday, so I can't take any new screenshots.  I did save a lot of them though, here are a few...

Note, CPU voltage is accurate in HWIINFO64 and I was running a -5 AVX offset...

    Prime95 12hrs w/ no AVX

Sorry! I didn't see this until now! I will go ahead and send you results sometime this week. I am off Wed / Thu so I  should be able to do it then!

I wanted that hot ring cache....lol.  Seriously...my 9900k runs 5.1GHz with no AVX offset @1.32v.  It is faster in every test I have tried accept memory bandwidth.  x299 platform is awesome, but I was trying to make it be something it is not best at...a mainstream gaming rig.
