Hi all,

Just upgraded my EVGA 1080 FTW to a 2080 Ti XC Ultra. It worked for about 2-3 days, and now I get some flaring artifacts on my screen, and eventually a freeze, when playing any game. I managed to record an error message from Hellblade, other games just crashed.

Any help? Was loving the card until now...

Did you just remove the old graphics card and install this new graphics card?

If you aren't overclocking the video card, looks like a hardware issue to me.

    ASRock Z77 • Intel Core i7 3770K • EVGA GTX 1080 • Samsung 850 Pro • Seasonic PRIME 600W Titanium

This is what I'm talking about:

From what I have experienced with OC, I get this every time I push my memory OCs on cards high enough to not instantly crash... Can't guarantee it but its likely a memory problem on the card itself. What you could try is sliding memory to the lowest you can, apply it and try playing a game. If that helps its RMA time because it looks like faulty memory if not doing any OC.

I'll try downclocking the memory and report back.

edit: oh ****, it worked. From -700 and on, the card is stable. Jesus christ. Thank you man, I'll RMA it.

    PSU ?

Did you use two seperate PCIe power cords from PSU to GPU ?

Remove any OC from your MB, CPU & RAM

Make sure the MB BCLK is @ stock ---> some MB will OC the BCLK as part of its automatic OC feature - this will also OC the PCIe Bus

With a new GPU you would need to establish that your MB, CPU & RAM are stable - as you would with any major change in your Rig

With what Power Supply and are you using 2 Separate PCIe Power Cables from the Power Supply to the Graphics Card and only using One Pigtail from Each Cable?

AX 860. Yes, 2 power cords. Tried no OC, mixed OC, everything. It's solved though, it's a memory problem. Downclocking it solves it. I'll RMA the card.
This rig is stable, thorougly tested multiple times.

Hope it's fast. The 1080 worked flawlessly, so dunno.

Thank you Alberto, I'll take the pics asap. I'll also try using a second power supply if I can get my hands on one.
