Kram, some things need you to be logged into the Store to download and run them, but your user account can stay as a local account.

Some apps you can download through the Store as a guest (not logged in through the Store). I bought State of Decay 2 a few months ago so I needed to be logged in. And, some apps just insist you be logged in even when they're free.

I didn't download the demo from the Microsoft Store. The demo was just available to download, but in order to run the demo it has to use the XBOX app to run the demo.
 
So if I make a Microsoft account and log into it through the in game Microsoft account log in as the provided picture shows, it won't switch my local account to a Microsoft account on Windows 10?

I'd cancel that and instead log in through the Xbox app only (select the gear on the bottom left) and see if that works for Forza Horizon 4.

I would say my biggest problem is that it tries to make itself easy to use for beginners to the point that you have to use to search bar for the settings that someone who really uses computers would want. The control panel should allow for an advanced user mode that would show the features someone with knowledge would really want to use.
 
That said overall I like Windows 10 and couldn't see going back to Windows 7.

I deactivated the win10 key on my dual processor lga 2011 and installed win7pro, the key reactivated fine.
Ever since the last update nothing but issues. Thinking all my crunching/folding systems maybe going back to win7pro or Linux
Too much hassle. I set the win update service to off and the connection to metered, turn it off a couple days and when it is back on it updates on its own.
I've had enough.

Anyone else want to go back, just deactivate the key from the board. Install win7 and use the key over. OEM keys too.
here is how.
 
Open Start, type: cmd
Right-click cmd and click Run as administrator
At the command prompt, type: slmgr.vbs /upk
Hit Enter on your keyboard.
Exit then Restart your computer.

Running Windows 7 Pro still. Never even sat before Windows 10 to mess with it. Will run Windows 7 till I am forced to move on.
