Hello! Had a few questions as a first time builder. I recently completed my build and loving it so far, but I noticed 2 things that are strange to me. 1. When the power supply switch is turned on, the Red LED light near the CPU and 8 pin remains on until I actually turn the PC on using the front I/O on the case. Is it normal for the Red LED light to remain on when the PC is turned off? I worry because that light is meant to indicate a warning according to the manual. I spoke to an EVGA representative and told me the latest BIOS should turn this off but it hasn't. 2. When the power supply switch is turned on and I power the pc using the front I/O, the PC turns on for about ~2 seconds, turns off for about ~2 seconds, then boots normally. This only happens if I turn the power supply switch off and then on. If I leave the power supply switch on, this doesn't happen. Is this normal? Any insight would be great. I'm hoping these are both normal things and I'm just being a little paranoid as a first time builder. My parts: i7 8700k (no overclock) evga z370 ftw mobo g skill ripjaws v series ddr 3000 with XMP profile 1 turned on evga gtx 1080 ftw samsung 860 evo ssd 2.5" evga 650 g3 noctua u12 cpu cooler s340 elite case BIOS up to date Thanks!

1. Wouldn't worry about it as long as your pc is working normally. 2. Yes, that is normal on some motherboards.

Hi, for the LED "issue" i got the same, but its ok, i think its just because you have your power supply connected to the electrecity. For the second "issue" that normal, when you turn off your power supply, the "memory" (i don t really know if its the memory or something else) who take the bios configuration , loose this information, when you switch on your power supply, the bios send to the "memory" is own configuration so you got an other boot to boot normally.

There is off and then there is OFF :-) Some power supplies and BIOS have that EU option which may cause some items to be different. --- As a young kid I wondered how the TV knew I picked up the remote and pushed the on button if it was OFF. ours was an Ultrasonic remote controls with no batteries and used air blowing on an air tube ie a dog whistle ---

1) I have the Z370 Classified with the same red led lit with computer off. No issues whatsoever. 2) Had a Z270 Classified that did the boot then off then boot again if I had the power supply unplugged first. Had the board for a year and always ran like a champ! Only sold it to do a new build. Your system is fine so no worries.

First of all- wow! Didn't expect to see these many replies. Makes me confident and glad in my decision to go Team EVGA. Great experience as my first post. Second- Thanks for the answers and for reassuring me. Easily worried about my pc as a first builder, so now I can perhaps sleep a little easier. :P

Had a z370 ftw die one me and got a replacement from EVGA. The old board did do the on for a second.. Off then back on. But now I have the same red led 12v error and my boot time on m.2 is very slow as well as my 8700k not boosting to 4.7 like it used to. Been with evga a long time but this is seriously annoying.

Create your own Thread and list all of your Hardware by Make and Model/Part Number and so on. You should do this to not derail or highjack this thread from the Original Creator. Is my Z370 Broken?
