Hey Guys, I recently upgraded to an EVGA GTX 1080 FTW2 from MSI GTX 970 100ME. All my previous GPUs worked without any issues on my mobo (MSI Z77A G43 Gaming and an i5 2400). But when I installed my 1080, the monitor says no signal. The PC does boot successfully as I can hear the welcome screen sound of windows 10. Previously I tested a Zotac GTX 1070 and the same thing happened...no signal on the display. However I ignored it thinking it might be a driver issue. I tried everything including clean uninstall of the currently installed display driver, disabling/deleting onboard graphics driver etc. Then I took my GTX 1080 to a friend who has a Z170 chipset and it worked fine. I used DVI-D on my PC and HDMI on friend's PC. Any idea what might be wrong? Could it the BIOS? The last bios update I got was in 2010. No more updates since then. PS: I am upgrading my rig to a Z270 platform now and hopefully it will resolve the issue. But still, I am curious to know the reason.

Can you explain how you have the monitor connected to the graphics card connector.

Straight DVI. No adapters.

So today I tested my both the GTX 970 and the 1080 on my TV Since my monitor doesn’t have hdmi 😛 970 worked and 1080 didn’t. So it’s definitely my current motherboard which might be causing the issue.

Go into your bios and set your pci-e slots to run in GEN3 mode instead of being set to AUTO. See if that helps fix the problem.

I guess it’s set to Gen 3 but I will check. The issue is I can’t go to bios when I install the 1080.

Oh. It's definitely a bios issue then since it works fine on your friends system.

Most probably. Will check now when my z270 board arrives.

So guys today I put together my z270 build and 1080 works now. It has to be my old Mobo which was causing the issue.

I'm having a similar issue where my displayport works fine until the BIOS posts and then it gives "no signal" and my computer goes to sleep. My motherboard is ASUS P6X58-E PRO and my GPU is EVGA 1080ti.
