So I have worked on it for 2 days Done ALL the things you can find on the net AGAIN and nothing worked.  There is a fix that world for X 58 mobos but nothing on the net for this one.  I will attach the latency report.  My current config is right here below.   All updates , bios , drivers yada yada yada all done.  Ok apparently I cannot get the photo to show after uploading it multiple times.  SO know this ..the DXKrnl.sys is PEGGED in the red as is the STORPORT.sys   It's said the its because the MOBO manufacturers will not update the drivers but I am hoping they are wrong...

UPDATE:   I saw Where one person disconnected their DVD Drive and it fixed the problem...  I tried it and it WORKED!  No telling why or what happened to make this start but they sayt it is related to a MS update that changed how the memory is used I guess.  I never use it anyway but it would be nice to know what broke!

There must have been more to it, but I guess it's possible. Long ago we had problems with interrupts and device address conflicts. Sounds familiar. I'm still struggling with my own unsolved issue, so I'm reading anything that gets posted on Z97 Classified. There also I guess is more as far as the overall problem, because I can't understand half of what's described in the post. But I'm making mental notes of it. And yes I've been helped, thanks, just looking.

I know how you feel. this problem was very complicated and so many people have failed to fix it trying everything on the planet.  Having to  lose my DVD player so my machine was usable again was just fine with me after 3 days of swearing and frustration.  Here is the Best thread I found that lead me to test the latency so I could find out what was causing it. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-performance/sound-pops-and-gaps-mouse-lag-and-stutter-after/fb98083d-0f77-4c5f-ae4d-026cabae5ab5

    Hope it helps

    Congrats

What brand & model of DVD ?

    DVD drive is SATA ?

    Try several SATA cables ?

How was DVD drive set if there is a jumper on the back  - Master ?

You tried all ports & both SATA controllers (most MB have two)
