X299 Dark & M.2 drive activity LED????

Hey, I'm not getting M.2 drive activity LED. I rechecked the orientation & still nothing. I gave up SSDs a while back & have no way of testing if it works with SSds.
 
Anyone having or have had same issue before, your wisdom is welcome???

    Update on this 2nd X299 Dark........The bios chip came off in my fingers, I just wiggled it as I was checking every connection.....WOW, it just came loose. Getting the 3rd copy on Thurs
