See title, I have a friend who is amazingly still using an 8600 GT and is unable to play with our group. I have an extra GTX 570 I was going to give him, anyone know how it runs? I would just test it myself but it's 1000 miles away from me at the moment.

Anyone here play Fortnite? Not me.

A GTX 570 will be a huge upgrade, as long as the rest of his computer is compatible and up to the task. Otherwise, it may only cause more expenses and troubles, if the rest of the PC is not compatible or improperly paired.

Tell us about his motherboard, CPU, power supply, monitor, and operating system.

FX 8120 @ 4GHz, 8GB 1600MHz RAM, 700W OCZ PSU, Crosshair V Formula, Windows 10, and a 22" 1920x1080 monitor. The rest is all reasonably up to snuff but he has previously only played old (early 2000's) games, thus the 8600 GT.

It's worth a try. I am not so sure how much he will gain while using that CPU nor whether his power supply is up to the task any more, but it's worth a shot.

If it will fit in his case it will be a huge improvement. I remember going from a 8400 to a gtx 470 and it was very impressive.

Thank you guys for the input. He picked the card up from my parents house and got it installed, it is pulling about 50 FPS with all settings on high. Much appreciated!
