as of last week I've started to hear a popping / crackling noise coming from my I5 6600K or area around it, temporary solution was to default the cpu from 4.5Ghz, that fixed the noise for about 3 days.

I wonder maybe the motherboard or the PSU is bad? the PSU is an EVGA Super Nova 1000W Platinum

Have you inspected the motherboard around the area where the noise is coming from to see if you could see anything out of the ordinary?

Yes but I haven't taken the cpu cooler off to see if the thermals is messed up.

The temperatures are fine, nothing is over heating.

Gaming is great, everything runs as expected it's just the sound is weird.
Top of the case vibrates a lot however I think that's just the corsair radiator or fans vibrating and I might need to tighten that down.

only thing that I can think of is maybe there is some air bubbles in my radiator even though it's closed loop.
