Hello,

I´ve tried to disable the factory overclok from my EVGA GTX 1080, checking "debug mode" in nvidia control panel, and it works; but I´ve seen than when I reboot, the debug mode is unchecked, so my question is,

How can I disable the factory overclock from my graphic card using "Debug mode" without checking  everytime "Debug mode" when I boot my pc?

Why would you want or need to do such a thing? Should not have to.. it's only for testing purposes.

If you need it to keep the card stable hopefully your rma'ing it.

And.. no idea on how to keep it there.

Why are you disabling the factory overclocking is it unstable? If you really want to you could under clock the card as there an add on programs like MSI but there should be no need to do it

There isn't a way to permanently enable debug mode. If you own a 1080 sc you could just flash the reference 1080 vbios to your card to get rid of the factory overclock.

Doing so will not disable GPU boost 3.0. That will still overclock the card.

I have this graphic card:  8G-P4-6183-KR - EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 SC ACX 3.0

If I´ve understood well, what you say is,  I can use the vbios from 8G-P4-6181-KR - EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 ACX 3.0 to get rid of the factory overclock?

would there be a chance the card slowly becoming more unstable over time if it did not work out of the box?

You know as well as everyone else with a minute amount of knowledge that factory overclocks are negated by GPU Boost 3.0, so to get the card to stock clocks, the user would need to disable boost and factory overclocks. Best example is loading an SC bios on a founders card, and they both clock to the same clock when everything is at stock settings.

If the stock bios meant for the card is an issue, EVGA should be doing a better to make sure it isn’t disagreeing with the card. I also understand they can slip through the cracks.

As it stands, it looks like the user may need to RMA, so hopefully things will get sorted soon.

No they aren't. The only way a factory oc gets canceled out by gpu boost 3.0 is if the factory oc gets reduced by gpu boost 3.0.

My kingpins max boost is 2012 MHz on the stock vbios. Running a reference 1080 ti vbios on my kingpin changes the max boost to 1911. That's 101 MHz difference. The difference in boost is coming from modifying the base clock.

Reference 1080 ti base clock = 1480.
1080 ti kingpin base clock = 1582.
1582 - 1480 = 102 MHz.

The op is trying to remove his factory oc. The op isn't trying to run stock base clocks.

08G-P4-6183-KR base clock = 1708. (OP's card)
08G-P4-6181-KR base clock = 1607. (stock gtx 1080)
1708 - 1607 = 101 MHz.

The OP's card will boost 101 MHz less on a reference 1080 vbios as the factory oc has been changed back to 1607.

every step of the  boost table is increased with factory overclocks, so Sajin is spot on here.

You can apply a boost downclock to your card at Windows startup using EVGA Precision or MSI Afterburner if that's your mission objective.

Downclock to the desired frequency in 13MHz increments/multiples, then enable 'START UP' in Precision, or 'Apply overclocking at system startup' in Afterburner..Then when you start/restart your PC the boost downclock will remain effective even if Precision or Afterburner isn't running..Applying clock speed or other changes using Precision may require you to manually close and then open Precision again because Precision has a problem (bug) saving settings unless you do that.

Flashing to another/unapproved VBIOS on cards with a single VBIOS, like yours, voids the warranty unless you flash it back should you ever need to RMA the thing..Having to downclock a card to make it work is almost certainly a sign of a bad card and you should contact EVGA Support about it.

The main reason is to avoid heat and very especially I am looking for less noise.

I would like to have bought: 8G-P4-6181-KR - EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 ACX 3.0

instead of 8G-P4-6183-KR - EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 SC ACX 3.0,

but the first one was much more expensive than the second, so I bought the 6183
